We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace as he sleeps. The battles of the mind can be fierce, especially when tormented by the lingering effects of trauma, but we serve a God who is greater than any affliction. The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten by the Father, and we stand in agreement that the Lord will draw near to him in this season of suffering.
The nightmares he faces are not from God, for **2 Timothy 1:7** declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We rebuke the spirit of fear and torment that seeks to steal his rest, commanding it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The Lord is his shield and his strong tower, and we pray that He would surround your son with His heavenly host, guarding his mind and heart as he sleeps. May the Lord replace every haunting image with visions of His goodness, filling his dreams with the peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in **Philippians 4:7**.
We also encourage you to speak life and Scripture over your son daily. Remind him of **Isaiah 41:10**, where the Lord says, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Let him know that his struggle is not in vain, and that the Lord is refining him through this fire, drawing him closer to Himself.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, asking for Your divine intervention in the life of this precious son. You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals, and we ask that You would touch his mind, body, and spirit with Your restoring power. Break every chain of PTSD that binds him, and let the blood of Jesus wash over him, cleansing him from the inside out. Lord, we ask that You would grant him deep, restorative sleep—sleep free from terror, free from distress, and filled with Your presence.
Place Your hand upon him as he lies down, and let Your angels encamp around him, as **Psalm 91:11** promises: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* Father, we pray that You would comfort him in ways only You can, reminding him that he is not defined by his pain but by Your love for him. Let him wake refreshed, renewed, and filled with hope, knowing that You are working all things together for his good.
We also lift up this mother who intercedes for her son. Strengthen her, Lord, and fill her with Your peace as she trusts You with his care. Give her the words to speak over him, the wisdom to guide him, and the faith to believe that You are moving on his behalf, even when she cannot see it.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer, we pray, knowing that You hear us and that You are faithful to answer. May Your will be done, and may Your glory be revealed through this trial. Amen.
