We join you in lifting up your son to the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and rest in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and the enemy seeks to torment through fear and sleepless nights, but we know that our God is greater. He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and He is mighty to save and restore.
The Word of God assures us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten by God, nor is he abandoned in his suffering. The Lord sees his pain and is close to him, ready to bring comfort and wholeness. We also cling to Psalm 4:8, which declares, *"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for you, Yahweh, alone make me live in safety."* Let this be the promise your son holds onto—peaceful sleep under the watchful care of the Almighty.
Yet we must also recognize that spiritual battles often accompany such struggles. PTSD can leave the mind vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks, but we have authority in Christ to resist him. James 4:7 commands us, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* We stand in this authority now, rebuking every spirit of fear, torment, and sleeplessness that has plagued your son. These nightmares are not from God, for He gives a spirit *"not of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). We break their hold over him in Jesus’ name and declare that his mind will be renewed by the truth of God’s Word.
We pray for divine healing over his mind, body, and spirit. May the Lord restore what has been broken, replacing trauma with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We ask for godly counselors, medical professionals, and believers to surround him, speaking life and truth into his situation. Let him encounter the love of Christ in tangible ways, reminding him that he is not defined by his past but by the redemption and purpose God has for him.
Father, we ask that You would guard his sleep as a shepherd guards his flock. Send Your angels to stand watch over him, just as You promised in Psalm 91:11, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* Fill his dreams with Your presence, Your love, and Your light. Let him wake refreshed, strengthened, and aware of Your nearness.
We also encourage you, dear parent, to continue covering your son in prayer and speaking God’s promises over him. Your faith is a powerful weapon in this battle. Do not grow weary in interceding for him, for the effective, earnest prayer of the righteous accomplishes much (James 5:16). Stand firm in the truth that *"the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you from the evil one"* (2 Thessalonians 3:3).
Lastly, we urge you both to stay rooted in the Word of God and in fellowship with other believers. Healing is a journey, but it is one the Lord walks with us. If your son has not yet surrendered his life fully to Christ, we pray that this season of struggle would draw him into the arms of the Savior, where true and lasting peace is found. There is no name greater than Jesus, and it is only through Him that we find salvation, healing, and victory.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing. Bring complete healing to this young man, restore his sleep, and let his testimony be one of Your faithfulness. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
