We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and rest in the mighty name of Jesus. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment the minds of God’s children with fear and distress, but we stand firm on the truth that our God is greater. He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and He is faithful to restore what has been broken.
The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:17-18, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten by God—His presence is near, and His power is mighty to save. We also claim the promise of Psalm 4:8, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* Let this be your son’s testimony: that even in the darkness, the Lord guards his mind and fills his dreams with His peace.
Yet we must also acknowledge that true and lasting healing often requires action aligned with faith. If your son has not already, we strongly encourage him to seek godly counseling or support from brothers and sisters in Christ who can walk with him through this valley. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and sometimes healing comes through the hands and words of those the Lord has equipped to help. Additionally, we urge him to saturate his mind with the Word of God. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Let him replace the lies of trauma with the truth of Scripture, meditating on verses that declare God’s sovereignty, love, and protection over his life.
We also rebuke the spirit of fear and torment that has sought to steal your son’s rest. In the name of Jesus, we command these nightmares to cease, for the Prince of Peace has authority over every dark thought and memory. Let the blood of Jesus cover his mind, his dreams, and his spirit, and let the Holy Spirit fill him with a supernatural peace that transcends all understanding.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to You. You know the depths of his pain, the weight of his memories, and the cries of his heart. Lord, we ask that You stretch out Your hand and touch him with Your healing power. Restore his mind, renew his strength, and guard his sleep so that he may wake refreshed and filled with Your hope. Let him experience the truth of Isaiah 26:3, *"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You; because he trusts in You."* Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let no weapon formed against him prosper.
We pray too for you, dear parent, that the Lord would fill you with His strength and wisdom as you support your son. May you be a vessel of His comfort and truth, pointing your son ever closer to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Let your home be a place of refuge, filled with prayer, worship, and the reading of God’s Word.
Finally, we declare that this season of suffering will not be in vain. Let it draw your son into a deeper relationship with Christ, where he finds his identity not in his struggles but in the victory of the cross. Remind him that even in the valley, he is not alone—Jesus walks with him, and the Holy Spirit intercedes for him with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).
We stand with you in faith, believing that the Lord is at work, and we give Him all the glory for the healing that is coming. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, Amen.
