We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know the enemy seeks to torment the minds of those who have endured trauma, but we stand firm in the truth that our God is greater. He is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and He is faithful to restore what has been broken. Your prayer in the name of Jesus is powerful, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and receive the promises of His Word.
The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB)**, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your son is not forgotten by God, nor is he abandoned in his suffering. The Lord sees his pain and is close to him, ready to bring comfort and deliverance. We also claim **Psalm 4:8 (WEB)**, which declares, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* Let this be the reality for your son—restorative sleep, free from the grip of nightmares, wrapped in the safety of the Almighty.
Yet we must also recognize that spiritual battles often accompany such deep emotional and mental struggles. **Ephesians 6:12 (WEB)** tells us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression that seeks to plague your son’s mind and disrupt his sleep. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these forces to flee and declare that your son’s mind is renewed and guarded by the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (**Philippians 4:7**).
We encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer, speaking life and Scripture over him. Play worship music or audio of the Bible in his space to fill the atmosphere with the truth of God’s Word. Remind him of **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)**, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* If he is open to it, professional counseling that aligns with biblical truth can also be a valuable tool in his healing journey. Above all, point him to Jesus, the ultimate Healer and Redeemer.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son who is battling the effects of trauma. Lord, You are the God who heals broken bodies, minds, and spirits, and we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon him now. Break the power of PTSD over his life and replace his nightmares with visions of Your love, grace, and truth. Let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We plead the blood of Jesus over his sleep, his dreams, and his entire being. Send Your angels to surround him, Lord, and let him rest in the safety of Your presence. Restore to him the joy of Your salvation and the strength to walk in victory. Give his mother wisdom and discernment as she supports him, and fill their home with Your shalom.
Father, we rebuke every scheme of the enemy to steal, kill, or destroy in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned (**Isaiah 54:17**). Let this season of struggle become a testimony of Your faithfulness and power.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
