We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing, protection, and peace. The burdens of PTSD are heavy, and we know how deeply the enemy seeks to torment the minds of God’s children through fear, flashbacks, and sleepless nights. But we stand on the truth of Scripture, declaring that our God is greater than any trauma, any nightmare, or any scheme of the devil. He is the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). He is the One who gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2), and He promises to guard our minds and hearts in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Your prayer is already aligned with the power of Jesus’ name, and we thank you for acknowledging that all authority and healing come through Him alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace for mercy and help in time of need (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16). We take comfort in knowing that Jesus Himself carried our sorrows and was acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3-5). He understands the depth of your son’s pain, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son whom You love even more than we do. Lord, You see the wounds in his mind and spirit—wounds that have stolen his peace and filled his nights with terror. But we declare that You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals. We ask You to touch his mind with Your healing power, to cast out every tormenting spirit, and to replace his nightmares with visions of Your love and truth. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, flood his heart and mind as he sleeps. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and trauma that has taken hold of him. In the name of Jesus, we command every demonic stronghold over his mind to be broken. We speak life, wholeness, and restoration over his sleep, declaring that he will lie down in peace and wake in safety because You, Lord, are his protector (Psalm 4:8). Fill his dreams with Your presence, Holy Spirit. Let him encounter You in ways that bring deep healing and renewal. Remind him in those quiet moments that he is not defined by his past or his pain, but by the blood of Jesus that has redeemed him.
We also pray for you, dear parent, as you walk this journey with your son. Give you strength, wisdom, and supernatural patience. Let Your joy be his strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and may You use this trial to draw your entire family closer to You. Help him to seek You first, to meditate on Your Word day and night, and to find his refuge in You alone.
Lord, we trust in Your promises. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We ask that Your perfect love would cast out every fear from his heart (1 John 4:18). Let him experience the truth of Your Word, that even when he walks through the valley of the shadow of death, he need not fear evil, for You are with him (Psalm 23:4).
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We believe that You are at work, even now, bringing healing and restoration. We give You all the glory, honor, and praise, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life over your son, and reminding him of God’s promises. Play worship music over him as he sleeps, anoint his home with oil as a symbol of consecration to the Lord (James 5:14), and fill his environment with the Word of God. The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ. Keep praying, keep believing, and trust that the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun in your son (Philippians 1:6).
If your son has not yet surrendered his life fully to Jesus, we urge you to share the Gospel with him. True and lasting peace comes only through a personal relationship with Christ. Remind him that Jesus said, *“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest”* (Matthew 11:28). There is no greater healing than what is found in the arms of our Savior.
