Humble Servant of All
When our Lord Jesus Christ touched Peter's mother-in-law, He not only quenched the fever but restored her strength wholly and at once: no lingering weakness, no slow recovery, for His power is not like a physician's art but divine and complete. Lift your sicknesses to Him with unwavering faith, and expect not merely partial relief but perfect health, for He is the same yesterday and today. Yet know that health of soul surpasses all bodily healing; and if He permits some affliction to remain, it is to rouse you from any spiritual dullness and draw you nearer to heaven, which we enter even now by a fervent and watchful disposition.
As for protection, remember that He who kept Paul in Corinth amid beatings and dangers, and who said “I have much people in this city,” will guard you in every trial. Do not fear those who can harm the body, but guard your heart above all, lest it grow dull through the cares of this life. The true shelter is in living for the common advantage, using whatever ability, wealth, or influence God has given you not for selfish gain but for your neighbor’s need. No talent is too small: the widow’s mite, the unlearned fishermen’s zeal, these pleased God more than great riches hoarded.
You ask also for financial breakthrough. Hear then what the Apostle teaches: the love of money chokes the word, and worldly wealth so easily divides the church and the soul. Seek first the kingdom, and trust that your Father knows your needs. The one who stewards even a single talent for the good of others will find true provision. Let not forty days of prayer then give way to former greed, as a sick man returning to poison loses all his healing. Instead, turn whatever breakthrough God grants into service: give, protect, teach, and live not for yourself, and you will store treasure in heaven where no thief comes near. Come, then, with eagerness to His table, not once a year but with a heart ever cleansed by mercy, and you will find that He who made a whole man healthy on the Sabbath can make you whole in spirit, soul, and body.
