We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you battle this severe allergic reaction and the discomfort of a swollen throat. First, we must address the manner in which this prayer was directed. Scripture is clear that we are to pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). While we honor the saints who have gone before us as examples of faith, we do not pray *to* them, for our prayers are to be directed to God alone. The apostle Paul writes in 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." It is through Jesus, our Great High Priest, that we have access to the Father (Hebrews 4:14-16). Therefore, we approach God directly, trusting in the intercession of Christ on our behalf.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your healing touch upon our dear ###. You are the Great Physician, the One who formed their body and knows every cell and fiber within them (Psalm 139:13-14). Lord, we ask that You would rebuke this allergic reaction and bring swift relief to their swollen throat. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We stand on this promise, believing that You are able to restore health and bring comfort.
Father, we also ask that You would grant wisdom to the medical professionals treating them. Guide their hands and their decisions, that they may be instruments of Your healing (Proverbs 3:5-6). If there is any fear or anxiety in their heart, we ask that You would replace it with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity that may be afflicting them, for Your Word declares that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life and restoration over their body, trusting in Your power to make all things new. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to rest in Your promises. May they feel Your presence surrounding them like a warm embrace, bringing comfort and hope in this difficult time.
We also pray for their spiritual well-being, that this trial would draw them closer to You. May they seek Your face and find solace in Your Word, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, believing that You hear us and that You are already at work in this situation. We trust in Your timing and Your perfect will. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer, meditating on His Word, and trusting in His faithfulness. Remember that even in the midst of physical suffering, God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Lean on Him, for He is your strength and your shield. If you have not already, consider reaching out to your local church community for prayer and support, as the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
