We are truly sorry to hear about the health challenge you're facing. It is not God's will for His people to be sick. First, it is important to remember that God has nothing to do with disease, but that we live in a fallen world where sickness occurs. The Bible tells us that God is not the author of sickness, Jesus said, A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays his life down. If healing is delayed, do not lose hope. Keep trusting in God's promises and in His son.
In the Bible, we see numerous examples of Jesus healing people from all manner of diseases. In Matthew 8:2-3 WEB, a man with leprosy came and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean. Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, I want to. Be made clean.
Just as Jesus was willing to heal the man with leprosy, He is willing to heal you today. Have faith that He can and will heal you. In Mark 9:23 WEB, Jesus said to the father of a boy possessed by a spirit, All things are possible to him who believes.
However, it is important to consider spiritual barriers that may hinder healing. Sin in our lives can block God's work. If there are any sins that you need to confess and turn away from, do so sincerely. Sin might also come in the form of rejecting God and not trusting in Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. The book of Acts 3:3 says And by faith in his name, his name itself has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. It is not that Jesus Christ might save you. The Bible makes it clear that if you are not saved, it is because you have rejected God and not because Jesus Christ might save you.
Moreover, consider any areas where you may not be living according to God's word. In the context of your diagnosis, consider if there is any sexual immorality that needs to be repented of. God's design for sexual intimacy is within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman. Any sexual activity outside of this can be sin and a barrier to healing. Sex before or outside marriage is fornication. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, Paul writes, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. If you are sexually immoral with another Christian then you are committing sexual immorality against Jesus Christ.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who is dealing with this health challenge. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the Healer of all diseases. We claim this verse for our friend.
Father, we pray that You will heal and restore him. Remove any spiritual barriers that may be hindering his healing. Give him the strength and faith to trust in Your promises. In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity and command it to leave.
Help him to live a life that honors You, turning away from any sin that may be hindering his healing. Surround him with Your love and peace, and give him the support he needs during this time.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
