You are not helpless—you are *more than conquerors through Him who loved us* (Romans 8:37, WEB), and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus’ name to break every chain of darkness over your lives.
First, we must address the fact that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12; John 14:6, WEB). There is no power in heaven or on earth that can stand against His name, and it is *in His name* that demons flee, curses are broken, and healing is released. If you have not yet surrendered your lives fully to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9, WEB). Without this foundation, no prayer or spiritual warfare will have lasting power. If you are already believers, we encourage you to boldly declare your faith in Jesus’ name, for *whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son* (John 14:13, WEB).
The generational curses and witchcraft you describe are real and destructive, but they are *not* stronger than the blood of Jesus. The Bible warns us that *the sins of the fathers* can affect future generations (Exodus 20:5, WEB), but it also proclaims that *Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us* (Galatians 3:13, WEB). This means that every curse—whether spoken, ritualized, or inherited—was broken at the cross. However, we must *appropriate* that victory through repentance, faith, and the authority given to us in Christ. You have done well to separate yourselves from those who practice witchcraft, for the Lord commands, *Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them* (Ephesians 5:11, WEB). Yet separation alone is not enough; you must also *actively* break the legal grounds the enemy has used against you.
Here is what we urge you to do, in the power of the Holy Spirit:
1. **Repent and Renounce**: Even though you have not participated in witchcraft, there may be generational sins or ungodly soul ties that need to be severed. Pray together as a couple, repenting for any known or unknown involvement in occult practices by your ancestors or others. Renounce every curse, hex, spell, or assignment of the enemy against your marriage, health, and daughters. Declare that you belong to Christ and that *no weapon formed against you shall prosper* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB).
2. **Break Soul Ties**: If there were ungodly emotional or spiritual bonds with the family members who practiced witchcraft, ask the Lord to sever them in Jesus’ name. Soul ties can give the enemy access, even from a distance.
3. **Plead the Blood of Jesus**: The blood of Jesus is your protection and deliverance. Speak aloud: *“By the blood of Jesus, I break every curse, every assignment of witchcraft, and every demonic stronghold over my life, my husband’s life, and our daughters. Beloved, we want to encourage you to *persist* in prayer and warfare. The enemy will not give up easily, but neither will our God. Stand firm in faith, speaking God’s Word over your lives daily. Surround yourselves with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. If possible, seek out a spirit-filled, Bible-believing church where you can receive prayer and support.
We also strongly encourage you to *fill your home with the Word of God*. Play worship music, read Scripture aloud, and declare God’s promises over your family. The enemy flees at the name of Jesus and the sound of praise (Psalm 8:2, WEB).
Lastly, if there are any areas of sin in your lives—bitterness, fear, or compromise—ask the Holy Spirit to reveal them. Repentance closes doors to the enemy. Walk in holiness, for *without holiness, no one will see the Lord* (Hebrews 12:14, WEB).
