We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his complete healing from COPD and asthma, knowing that our God is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals. Your prayer is rooted in faith, and we stand in agreement with you, declaring that by the stripes of Jesus, your son *is* healed (1 Peter 2:24). How beautiful it is to see you approaching the throne of grace with boldness, not in your own name or strength, but in the mighty and holy name of Jesus—the only name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through whom we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). You have done well to pray in Jesus’ name, for it is only through Him that our prayers are heard and answered.
The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray that the Lord will renew your son’s lungs, restoring them to full health and function, just as He formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into him (Genesis 2:7). May the same creative power that spoke the universe into existence now speak healing into every bronchus, every alveolus, and every cell of his respiratory system. Let there be no trace of inflammation, no lingering infection, but only the perfect work of God’s hands, breathing life and strength into him as easily as the morning breeze.
We also lift up his immune system, asking the Lord to fortify it mightily, that it may stand as a wall of protection against every sickness, virus, and disease. The psalmist declares, *"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases"* (Psalm 103:2-3). We claim this promise over your son today, trusting that the Lord is faithful to His Word. Even in the humidity that weighs heavily upon his breathing, we ask for supernatural ease, that he may draw each breath as a reminder of God’s sustaining grace.
Yet, as we pray for physical healing, we also encourage you to examine the spiritual and emotional well-being of your son. Is there any area of his life where he may need to surrender more fully to the Lord? Are there habits, stresses, or sins that could be hindering his healing? The apostle James tells us, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:14-15). We urge you to consider whether there is any unconfessed sin or spiritual stronghold that needs to be addressed, for our God is a God of holiness, and He calls us to walk in righteousness.
We also encourage you to speak life and healing over your son daily. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that *"death and life are in the power of the tongue."* Let your words align with God’s promises, declaring health and wholeness over him. Surround him with an atmosphere of faith, playing worship music, reading Scriptures of healing, and standing firm in the belief that what God has promised, He is able to perform (Romans 4:21).
Finally, we remind you that even if the healing tarries, God’s grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Trust in His timing, for He sees the full picture when we see only a fragment. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep praising Him in advance for the victory He is bringing.
**Our prayer for you and your son:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious son to Your throne of grace. You are the Great Physician, the One who formed his inward parts and knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). We ask that You stretch forth Your hand to heal him, Lord. Touch his lungs and clear every airway, removing all inflammation, infection, and obstruction. Let his breath come easily, as a sweet reminder of Your life-giving Spirit within him.
Strengthen his immune system, Lord, and let it rise up as a mighty army against every sickness and disease. We rebuke COPD and asthma in the name of Jesus, commanding these infirmities to loose their hold over him. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we speak restoration and vitality into his body, declaring that he shall run and not be weary, he shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
Father, we also ask that You reveal any area in his life that needs surrender or repentance. If there is sin, convict him gently and lead him to confession, that nothing may hinder Your healing work. Fill him with Your peace, Lord, and let him rest in the assurance that You are his Healer.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will. May this season of waiting be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may Your name be glorified through his healing. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
