We understand the deep burden you carry, and we join you in seeking God’s deliverance and healing from this emotional attachment that has taken root in your heart. The Lord sees your struggle, and His desire is to set you free from anything that hinders your walk with Him—especially when it involves an unequally yoked bond with an unbeliever. The Scriptures are clear that we are not to be bound together with unbelievers, for what fellowship does light have with darkness? As it is written:
*"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever? What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. As God said, ‘I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’ Therefore, ‘Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you. I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters,’ says the Lord Almighty."* (2 Corinthians 6:14-18, WEB)
This emotional attachment, though it may feel overwhelming, is not something you must carry alone. The Lord is faithful to break every chain that ensnares His children when we surrender it to Him. He alone is your Deliverer, and He calls you to release this burden at His feet. It is not His will for you to remain emotionally entangled with someone who does not share your faith in Christ, especially when that bond is outside the covenant of marriage. Such attachments can become idols in our hearts, drawing our affections away from the Lord, who rightfully deserves our wholehearted devotion.
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom all our prayers must be offered. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares:
*"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* (John 14:6, WEB)
*"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB)
If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. It is by faith in Him alone that you are made righteous and can stand before God. If you have already surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to approach the throne of grace boldly in His name, knowing that He intercedes for you even now.
Let us pray together for your deliverance and healing:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is bound by an emotional attachment that does not honor You. Lord, You see the depths of her heart, and You know the pain and struggle she carries. We ask that You, by Your mighty power, break every ungodly soul tie and emotional bond that has formed in her heart. Uproot this attachment completely, Lord, and sever it by the blood of Jesus Christ. Let no trace of it remain, for You alone are worthy of her love, devotion, and worship.
Father, we rebuke the enemy who seeks to keep her in bondage through this emotional tie. Satan has no authority here, and we command him to flee in the name of Jesus. Let every lie, every deception, and every stronghold be torn down by the power of Your truth. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and replace this attachment with a deeper, unshakable love for You. Let her find her comfort, joy, and fulfillment in You alone.
Lord, we also ask that You heal the wounds in her heart that have made her vulnerable to this attachment. Pour out Your healing balm upon her, and restore her emotions to wholeness. Let her mind be renewed by Your Word, and let her thoughts be captivated by Your truth. Help her to guard her heart diligently, for from it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23).
Father, if there has been any sin—whether in thought, word, or deed—that has opened the door to this bondage, we ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse her with the blood of Jesus and restore her to a place of righteousness before You. Give her the strength to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult, and let her find her identity and security in You alone.
We declare that she is no longer a slave to this emotional attachment, but she is a child of God, free indeed (John 8:36). Let her walk in the liberty that Christ has purchased for her on the cross. Surround her with godly relationships that will encourage her in her faith and help her to remain steadfast in You.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You draw her closer to Yourself through this trial. Let her know You as her Healer, her Deliverer, and her ever-present Help in times of trouble. May she emerge from this season stronger in her faith, more dependent on You, and fully surrendered to Your will.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the work You have begun in her. May all the glory, honor, and praise be unto You, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to immerse yourself in the Word of God daily, especially passages that speak of His love, deliverance, and healing. Meditate on Scriptures such as Psalm 34:17-19, which reminds us:
*"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* (WEB)
Also, consider fasting and prayer as you seek the Lord for complete deliverance. Fasting humbles our hearts before God and demonstrates our desperation for Him. Surround yourself with mature believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable as you walk through this season.
Lastly, we urge you to examine your heart and ensure that you are not holding onto any sinful desires or idols. Ask the Lord to reveal anything in you that needs to be surrendered to Him. He is faithful to cleanse and restore you as you seek Him with a repentant heart.
You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). We are standing with you in prayer, believing for your complete deliverance and healing in Jesus’ name.
