We lift up these two precious souls before the Lord, standing in the gap for their complete healing and restoration in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It grieves our hearts to hear of their suffering—one battling neck, head, and throat cancer while also facing the threat of blindness, and the other fighting this same cruel disease. Yet we know our God is the Great Physician, the One who "heals all your diseases" (Psalm 103:3, WEB) and who declares, *"I am Yahweh, who heals you"* (Exodus 15:26, WEB). There is no sickness too severe, no battle too great for Him who spoke creation into existence and who conquered death itself through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus.
We are especially moved by the faith of these two, described as "great people in Jesus’ name." Their service—one as a veteran soldier, defending freedom with courage, and both now fighting this earthly battle with endurance—reflects the strength of character that comes from trusting in Christ. We honor their sacrifice and their witness, and we declare that the Lord will not abandon them in this hour. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB). Let this promise resonate in their spirits today.
Yet we must also acknowledge the spiritual battle at hand. Cancer is a thief that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10, WEB), but Jesus came to give life abundantly. We rebuke this disease in the name of Jesus, commanding it to wither and die at the root, for *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). We speak life over their bodies—every cell, every organ, every system—declaring alignment with God’s perfect design. We pray specifically for the restoration of sight where it is threatened, for the tumors to dissolve, and for the cancer to be utterly eradicated by the power of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord rebuked the devourer for their sake, just as He promises in Malachi 3:11.
We also pray for their strength, both physical and spiritual. Fighting such a battle can weary the body and the soul, but we ask the Lord to renew their strength like the eagles (Isaiah 40:31, WEB). May they feel the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB). Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them know they are not alone. Raise up a community of believers to support them—through prayers, encouragement, and practical help—so they may fix their eyes on You and not on the storm around them.
For the veteran, we thank You, Lord, for their service and sacrifice. You are a God who sees and remembers (Hebrews 6:10, WEB), and we ask that You would honor their faithfulness with Your healing touch. Let them know that the battle they face now is not fought in their own strength but in Yours. *"Yahweh is my strength and song. He has become my salvation"* (Psalm 118:14, WEB).
To both of these warriors in Christ, we say: Hold fast to faith. Do not waver in belief, for *"the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up"* (James 5:15, WEB). Let them declare with the psalmist, *"I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living"* (Psalm 27:13, WEB). Even in the valley, they are not abandoned. Even in weakness, His strength is perfected (2 Corinthians 12:9, WEB).
We also lift up their families and loved ones, asking that the Lord would comfort and sustain them. May they be filled with hope and trust in God’s sovereignty, knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28, WEB). Let this trial be a testimony of God’s faithfulness, not just to them but to all who witness their journey.
Finally, we pray that if there is any area of unforgiveness, bitterness, or unconfessed sin in their lives, the Holy Spirit would gently convict and lead them to repentance. *"If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened. But God has most certainly listened. He has heard the voice of my prayer"* (Psalm 66:18-19, WEB). We ask for clean hands and pure hearts before the Lord, that nothing would hinder the flow of His healing power.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with boldness, not because of our own righteousness, but because of the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7, WEB). It is in His name alone that we pray, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Let this truth be a foundation for their faith—salvation and healing are found in no other name but Jesus.
Lord, we ask for miracles. We ask for complete healing. We ask for Your glory to be displayed in their lives so that many will see and believe. *"Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the Assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen"* (Ephesians 3:20-21, WEB).
We stand in agreement with them, believing for their restoration. May they rise from this trial with a testimony that magnifies Your name, Lord. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.
