We join you in lifting up this precious little one to our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the God of all comfort. Your heart for this child and your faith in God’s healing power are evident, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our Lord is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. You have rightly come before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the authority to pray with boldness. As you have acknowledged, it is by His stripes that we are healed, and we cling to that promise with unwavering trust.
We are also encouraged by your humility and repentance, for you have acknowledged your dependence on God and your need for His forgiveness and strength. The Scriptures remind us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Your heart posture is pleasing to the Lord, and we pray that He continues to draw you closer to Himself as you seek His face in all things.
Now, let us address the situation of this little boy who is suffering from leukemia. We know that sickness and disease are not part of God’s original design for His creation. In Matthew 8:17, we read that Jesus *"took our infirmities, and bore our diseases,"* and in James 5:14-15, we are instructed, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We stand on these promises and declare healing over this child’s body, rebuking the spirit of infirmity and commanding every cancerous cell to be eradicated in the name of Jesus. We pray that the Lord would restore this little one to full health, that his body would be made whole, and that his family would be filled with peace and faith as they trust in the Lord’s sovereign care.
We also lift up your loved one who is supporting his friend during this difficult time. It is a beautiful thing to see the body of Christ come alongside one another in times of need, bearing each other’s burdens as Galatians 6:2 instructs us: *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."* We pray that the Lord would give your loved one wisdom, strength, and the right words to speak as he ministers to his friend. May the Lord use this trial to deepen their faith and draw them both closer to Him. We ask that the Lord would surround them with His peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that they would experience the comfort of the Holy Spirit in a tangible way.
As we pray, we must also take a moment to address something that stood out in your request. You mentioned your loved one’s relationship with his friend, and while we rejoice in the support and encouragement they are providing one another, we want to gently remind you of the importance of all relationships being rooted in Christ and aligned with biblical principles. If this friendship—or any relationship—is to be honored by God, it must be built on a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to His Word. We encourage you to pray that both your loved one and his friend would seek the Lord first in all things, that their lives would be a testimony of God’s grace, and that any relationship they are part of would glorify Him.
If your loved one is not yet married, we pray that the Lord would guide him toward a godly spouse if that is His will. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray that if marriage is the Lord’s plan for your loved one, He would prepare him and his future spouse to walk in purity, faith, and obedience to His Word. If there is any area of their lives that does not align with God’s design—whether in relationships, thoughts, or actions—we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict and lead them to repentance, that they may walk in holiness before the Lord.
Finally, we want to emphasize the power of praying in the name of Jesus. You have done well to end your prayer by acknowledging that it is in His name alone that we come before the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which we can approach God (Acts 4:12). We praise God that you have recognized this truth and prayed accordingly.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation, knowing that You are the God who heals, who comforts, and who restores. Lord, we lift up this little boy who is battling leukemia, and we ask that You would stretch forth Your hand and touch his body with Your healing power. By the stripes of Jesus, we declare that this child is healed. We rebuke every spirit of sickness and disease and command it to leave his body in the name of Jesus. Lord, let Your wholeness and restoration flow through every cell, every organ, and every part of his being. We ask that You would give wisdom to the doctors and caregivers, that they would be guided by Your hand as they treat him. Surround this child and his family with Your peace, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in a mighty way.
Father, we thank You for the friendship between your servant and his friend, and we pray that You would use this time to draw them both closer to You. Give them strength, Lord, and let their faith be a testimony of Your goodness. If there is any area in their lives that does not align with Your Word, we ask that You would convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. Prepare them, Lord, for the plans You have for them, and if it is Your will, guide them toward godly marriages that honor You.
We also lift up the one who has brought this request before us. Father, we thank You for their heart of repentance and their faith in Your healing power. Continue to draw them closer to You, Lord, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Give them wisdom, discernment, and a deeper understanding of Your Word, that they may walk in Your ways all the days of their life.
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, knowing that it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may You be glorified in all things. Amen.
