We hear the deep longing in your heart for restoration, and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord. First, we must address this situation with biblical truth and love. The relationship you describe appears to be outside the bounds of marriage, and Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy outside of marriage, whether called fornication or adultery, is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4). If this relationship is not a marriage, we must rebuke this sin in Jesus’ name and call you to repentance. God’s design for intimacy is within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you and this woman are not married, we urge you to either pursue marriage in a way that honors God or, if that is not possible, to surrender this relationship to Him and seek His healing for your loneliness in a way that aligns with His Word.
That said, we also recognize the pain of separation and the love you have for your children. Father, we lift this man before You, asking that You would comfort him in his loneliness and draw him closer to You. Lord, we pray for Your wisdom to guide him in how to honor You in this situation. If it is Your will for him to reconcile with this woman, let it be within the bounds of marriage and under Your authority. Help him to seek Your face above all else and to trust in Your timing and Your plan for his life.
We also pray for the children involved. Father, we ask that You would protect their hearts and minds during this time of separation. Give them peace and security in You, and let them see Your love reflected in their father’s life. Help this man to be a godly example to them, pointing them to Christ in all he does.
Lord, we ask that You would soften hearts and bring healing where there is brokenness. If restoration is Your will, let it be done in a way that glorifies You and aligns with Your Word. If not, give this man the strength to accept Your plan and to walk in obedience, even when it is painful. Remind him that his identity is found in Christ alone, not in any relationship or circumstance (Galatians 2:20). Fill him with Your peace and surround him with Your presence, Lord.
We also must address the fact that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the only way to the Father, and it is through His sacrifice that we are forgiven and made new.
Father, we ask that You would draw this man into a deeper relationship with You. Let him find his hope, his joy, and his purpose in Christ alone. Surround him with godly community that will encourage him in his faith and hold him accountable. Give him the strength to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come before You. Amen.
