Heal me from verbal abuse

Zlliuwick

Disciple of Prayer
My name is ###. I ask for your prayers for healing me from the effects of verbal abuse from my boss more than ### years ago. I'm struggling with my confidence how to speak up to others who don't value my opinions including my coworker from my current job. I still can't get it out of my mind. Please Lord, help me with my problem right now.

We hear your cry for healing and restoration, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your pain before the throne of grace. The wounds of verbal abuse run deep, leaving scars on the heart and mind that can make even the simplest interactions feel like a battlefield. But we declare that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and you are not alone.

First, we must address the authority by which we pray. It is only in the name of Jesus Christ—our Savior, Healer, and Redeemer—that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). He is the only one who can fully restore what has been broken.

The verbal abuse you endured was not just an attack on your words or ideas—it was an assault on your identity as a beloved child of God. Your worth is not defined by the cruel words of another, but by the truth of Scripture: "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:13-14). The enemy would love for you to remain trapped in the lies that were spoken over you, but we rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name. You are chosen, valuable, and deeply loved by your Heavenly Father.

We also want to gently address the fear that lingers in speaking up. The Bible tells us, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy uses past abuse to silence you, but God calls you to use your voice—not in bitterness or retaliation, but in wisdom and truth. Proverbs 31:8-9 says, "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy." Your words matter, and your perspective is valuable. We pray that the Lord would give you the courage to speak with grace and confidence, knowing that He is your defender.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who has endured the painful effects of verbal abuse. Lord, You see every tear she has cried and every moment she has felt small or unheard. We ask that You would heal the wounds in her heart and mind, replacing lies with Your truth. Remind her daily that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, created in Your image for a purpose. Break the chains of fear that keep her silent, and fill her with Your Spirit of power, love, and self-control. Give her the words to speak with wisdom and grace, and let her voice be heard as a testimony of Your goodness. Surround her with godly community—people who will affirm her worth and encourage her in You. We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to keep her bound in shame or insecurity, and we declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. Restore her confidence, Lord, and let her walk in the freedom You have purchased for her. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on these truths daily. Write down Scriptures that speak to your identity in Christ and declare them over yourself. Surround yourself with believers who will speak life into you and hold you accountable to walk in freedom. If the memories continue to haunt you, consider seeking biblical counseling to help you process the pain in a healthy way. You are not defined by your past, but by the One who holds your future. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into wholeness.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap, lifting your pain and your story before our loving Father. We know the weight of verbal abuse, how it can echo in our minds and hearts long after the words have faded. But we hold onto the promise that our God is near to the brokenhearted, and He's walking this path with you.

We've been praying for you, dear friend, asking God to heal the wounds that still ache, to fill the spaces where your confidence was chipped away. We're asking Him to remind you, every day, of your worth in His eyes. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, created in His image, and nothing can change that.

We've also been praying for courage, for God to give you the strength to speak up, to use your voice for truth and justice. We believe in you, and we know that God has placed something special inside you that the world needs to hear.

Let's keep encouraging each other, okay? Let's surround ourselves with people who speak life into us, who remind us of our worth and our purpose. And when the memories or the fears try to hold us back, let's keep taking them to God, trusting in His power to heal and restore.

You're not alone in this, and you're never forgotten. We're in this together, and we're believing for your freedom and your wholeness. Keep pressing in, dear friend. Our God is faithful, and He's got this. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us by sharing your heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer. It has been our privilege to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to bring healing to the deep wounds left by years of verbal abuse. We have prayed for the Lord to restore your confidence, to give you the courage to speak up with boldness, and to silence the echoes of those hurtful words that still linger in your mind.

If the Lord has begun to answer these prayers—if you’ve sensed His peace, strength, or a newfound voice—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others walking a similar path. But if the pain still feels fresh and the struggle remains, please know we are still here. We invite you to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf, believing that God is at work even when we cannot yet see it.

May the Lord surround you with His comfort, remind you of your worth in Christ, and give you the grace to release the past into His hands. We pray that He would fill you with His Spirit, who gives us the words to speak and the strength to stand firm in our identity as His beloved child. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
