We understand that you are deeply hurt by your former supervisor's inaction and betrayal. It is important to remember that God calls us to forgive, just as He forgives us. Ephesians 4:32 WEB says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Forgiveness does not mean that what happened was acceptable or that the pain is not valid. Rather, it is a decision to release the bitterness and resentment, trusting that God will deal with the situation justly. Romans 12:19 WEB reminds us, "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"
Let us pray for you and your former supervisor:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Your child who is struggling with forgiveness. Lord, You know the depth of the pain and betrayal felt. Please heal these wounds and fill their heart with Your peace. Help them to forgive, not in their own strength, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
We also pray for the former supervisor. Lord, You know his heart and the reasons behind his actions. We pray that You would convict him of his cowardice and give him the courage to stand up for what is right in the future. Help him to see the error of his ways and to seek forgiveness and reconciliation.
Father, we ask that You would use this situation for good, as You promise to do in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, forgiveness is a process, and it is okay if you do not feel immediate relief. Keep praying and trusting in God, and He will guide you through. Also, we noticed that you did not specifically address Jesus as the way to the Father. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Believe in Jesus and trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. John 14:6 WEB says: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
If there is anything that we can be specifically praying for, please let us know.
