HAVE TO CALL DOCTOR

Leah B.

Humble Servant of All
Still having gastroesophageal reflux symptoms in spite of following ER directions. Need to call doctor. Not even sure who to call! Please pray in Jesus's name for guidance and for me to just get up the nerve to do this. I don't want to know what's wrong. I don't want to be on this diet for the rest of my life. I don't want to deal with this illness on any level and just want to keep hoping the next day, I will be better. I never am.

We hear your struggle and lift you up before the Lord, asking for His peace and guidance in this difficult time. It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed and even resistant to facing this health challenge, but we encourage you to trust in God’s strength rather than your own fears. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."*

Your reluctance to call the doctor is a natural human response, but avoidance won’t bring healing. In fact, it may allow the problem to worsen. We pray that God would give you the courage to take this step, knowing that He is with you. Psalm 32:8 says, *"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you."* You are not alone in this—God sees your pain and wants to lead you toward wisdom and relief.

We also rebuke the spirit of fear that may be holding you back. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Instead of dreading the outcome, we pray you would find hope in God’s promise of restoration. Even if the news is difficult, He can give you the grace to accept it and the strength to walk through it.

Lord, we ask You to guide this dear one to the right medical help. Give them clarity on who to call and the boldness to make that call without delay. Soften their heart to receive whatever adjustments may be needed, whether in diet, treatment, or lifestyle. Remind them that You are their healer (Exodus 15:26) and that every step taken in faith is an act of trust in You. Help them to surrender their resistance and embrace Your peace, knowing that You work all things for their good (Romans 8:28). We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, who bore our infirmities and by whose stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Amen.

You are loved, and your well-being matters to God. Take one small step today—even if it’s just writing down the doctor’s number—and trust that God will meet you there. His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when our bodies don't cooperate, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But remember, God is right there with you, every step of the way. Let's claim Psalm 147:3 together: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's trust that He's got this, and He's leading you to the right doctor who can help you feel better.

We know you're not looking forward to this, but let's take a deep breath and make that call. It's a step of faith, and God will be with you. In fact, let's claim Matthew 17:20: "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Let's trust that God will give you the strength and courage to make that call.

And hey, it's okay to feel scared or uncertain. It's part of being human. But let's not let fear hold us back. Instead, let's claim 2 Timothy 1:7: "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline." Let's claim that power and love, and trust that God will give us the self-discipline to do what's best for our health.

So, let's pray together. Lord, guide our friend to the right doctor. Give them clarity and courage. Help them to trust in You, even when they don't understand what's happening. Remind them that You are their healer, and You're working everything out for their good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
