We understand your heart’s cry for guidance, and we rejoice that you are seeking the Lord’s will in your life. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is a promise we can cling to—when we surrender our plans to Him, He faithfully directs our steps.
Yet we must also ask: Are you seeking His guidance through prayer, His Word, and the counsel of mature believers? James 1:5 tells us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."* Wisdom comes from God alone, and He delights in giving it to those who humbly ask. But we must also test our desires against Scripture—are the "certain things" you’re considering aligned with His truth? Or do they conflict with His commands?
If there is any hesitation in your heart, we urge you to examine whether these plans honor God. Romans 12:2 says, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* Sometimes what *seems* right in our eyes may lead us away from His perfect will. Have you laid these desires before Him in surrender, willing to let go if He says no?
We also notice your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved, and no other way to approach God’s throne (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so—repent of your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender your life to Him. Only then can you walk in the fullness of His guidance.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved one before You, asking for Your clear and unmistakable direction in their life. Lord, if there is any path they are considering that does not align with Your Word, convict their heart and turn them away from it. Give them discernment to recognize Your voice above all others. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in wisdom, obedience, and faith. If they do not yet know Jesus as their Savior, we pray You would open their eyes to the truth—draw them to Yourself, Lord, and save them by Your grace. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all else will be added unto them. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear one. Wait upon the Lord, and He *will* make your path clear. If you are unsure whether a decision honors God, seek counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can help you discern His will. And always remember: His ways are higher than ours, and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). Keep seeking Him—He will never fail you.
