Growing Taller

Hi. I am a 22 going 23 year old chinese male, and sadly, I have only reached the height of 161cm (5ft 2-3?) so far.

For a good number of years in my life, I had been blissfully unaware that it was an issue, but I am starting to realise it after being more exposed to others taller than me.

I now understand that my short stature is in fact a condition and that it needs to be remedied.

I know that God performs healing and miracles, and that he makes the impossible possible.

He caused people with disabling conditions like lameness and blindness to be cured.

This is despite the fact that they have sometimes been said by doctors and medical professionals the world over to be untreatable or incurable.

My height is a disabling factor in my life, as when I go out into the workforce in the future, everyone is going to be taller than me.

That will only make it hard for me to survive.

I am starting to become very paranoid over this, and I have been praying to God for his healing touch to come upon me, and allow me to be able to grow.

I did an X-ray before a back operation when I was 18, and the doctor said that my growth plates had harderned and that there was no chance of me growing any further. I believed him then, but I would like to challenge that notion now by praying fervently to God to allow them to unharden for me to resume normal growth once again.

Is this possible in God's eyes? Can anyone please help me by discussing this issue with me? =(

I have been a good and faithful servant of the Lord for so long, and it is only now that I realise I have been inflicted with such a condition.

It could be partly to do with genes, but I know I have not reached my full growing potential when I was younger. I really need God's healing touch right now. =(

5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.â€

6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly

JCDavid, shouldn't we not pray for the impossible? Why do we limit ourselves?

I really yearn for this. I really pray that God will be able to allow me to grow to my full potential.

Just like the lame have a chance to walk properly, and the blind have a chance to see, I pray that the impossible might happen in my life.

But, remember this that Our Lord and Saviour and Our Father God is Bigger than anyone of the Flesh and He walks with you and that He can make a way for you that your height is not an issue. Hi Stephanie. From what you are saying, it appears that you may be veering towards a certain direction. That is that I have to learn to be in acceptance of my height. However, you are probably a person of average height, and may not understand what it feels from my angle.

Oh yeah, God does, as he understands everyones hurts.

The thing is, would you be prepared to shrink to my height in a bid to obey God if the time ever called for it? I doubt many would. Most will probably struggle with this proposal, as their height has brought them an easier way through life, and to give it up would mean facing the less desirable effects of being short.

I would like to believe that God can grant me more height. I will be able to serve him better with it.

Just like Solomon asked for wisdom that he may have lacked, I ask for more height to enable me to perform his duties more effectively.

A lame person does not wallow in misery and accepts that he will be lame for life. He asks God for healing, and God grants it to him.
