The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* You are not alone in this, and God sees every tear and every injustice.
First, we must address the gravity of the words spoken by your daughter’s boyfriend. Wishing harm upon another—especially a family member—is a serious sin, and his laughter while doing so reveals a hardened heart. Proverbs 6:16-19 warns, *"There are six things which the Lord hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers."* His actions and words are not just hurtful—they are an offense to God.
