We join you in thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father for this day and for His unfailing love and mercy. It is wonderful to see your heart turned toward fasting and seeking the Lord’s presence in your life, for He honors those who draw near to Him with sincerity. As you prepare to fast, we encourage you to do so with a heart fully surrendered to God, seeking His will above all else. Fasting is not merely about abstaining from food but about humbling yourself before the Lord, repenting of sin, and seeking His face with a contrite spirit. The prophet Joel reminds us, *"Yet even now," says Yahweh, "turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning. Tear your heart, and not your garments, and turn to Yahweh, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity."* (Joel 2:12-13).
We also notice you mention an unusual physical sensation—an "electricity current feeling" in your body. While we do not know the cause, we urge you to seek wisdom and, if necessary, medical attention to ensure there is no underlying issue that requires care. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we are called to steward them well. At the same time, we recognize that spiritual oppression can sometimes manifest in physical ways. If this is the case, we stand with you in rebuking any ungodly influence in the name of Jesus Christ. *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* (James 4:7). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Be filled afresh with the Holy Spirit, and let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Your plan to fast with watermelon is a gentle approach, and we pray the Lord grants you strength and clarity during this time. Remember, fasting is not about legalism but about drawing closer to God. If you feel led to adjust your fast—whether in duration or type—seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Jesus taught that fasting should be done with a joyful heart, not for show, but as a private act of devotion to the Father (Matthew 6:16-18). Let this time be one of deep communion with Him, where you lay down your burdens and lift up your praises.
We also lift up your financial need before the Lord. He is Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides, and He knows the bill you are trusting Him to clear. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* (Philippians 4:6-7). We declare that the Lord will open doors for you, providing the resources and favor you need to settle this debt. Walk in faith, not fear, for our God owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and delights in meeting the needs of His children.
Lastly, we pray for the rest you seek tonight. The Lord invites us, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls."* (Matthew 11:28-29). Cast your anxieties upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). May His peace wash over you, and may you sleep deeply in the assurance of His love and protection.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your goodness and mercy. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would touch their body and remove every unusual sensation that does not align with Your perfect design. Lord, if there is any spiritual oppression at work, we rebuke it now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let Your Holy Spirit fill every part of their being, bringing healing, peace, and restoration. We thank You that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we declare wholeness over their body, mind, and spirit.
Father, we ask for Your guidance and strength as they prepare to fast. May this time be holy and set apart for You. Speak to their heart, Lord, and reveal Yourself in powerful ways. Grant them clarity, conviction, and a deeper hunger for Your Word. Let this fast be a time of breakthrough, where chains are broken, and Your purposes are fulfilled in their life.
We bring their financial need before You, trusting in Your provision. You are the God who multiplies the little and turns lack into abundance. Open the windows of heaven, Lord, and pour out Your blessing upon them. Provide the means to clear this debt, and let it be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Remove any fear or anxiety, and replace it with unwavering trust in You.
Father, we ask for rest tonight—a deep, refreshing sleep where they are cradled in Your peace. Quiet their mind and still their heart as they lie down, knowing You are watching over them. Let them wake with renewed strength and a heart full of praise.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect will and timing, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in every area of their life. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
