We lift up your grandson before the Lord with hearts full of both gratitude for his life being spared and deep concern for his spiritual and physical well-being. The enemy has sought to destroy him through the bondage of drug use, but we declare that *no weapon formed against him shall prosper* (Isaiah 54:17). This crisis is a wake-up call—a divine intervention to turn his heart toward Christ before it is too late.
The Word of God is clear: *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Drug abuse falls under the sin of drunkenness—a slavery that steals purpose, health, and eternity. But there is hope! *"Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God"* (1 Corinthians 6:11). Your grandson can be set free—not just from drugs, but from the sin that ensnares him—if he repents and surrenders to Jesus.
We pray fervently that this hospitalization would break the stronghold of addiction in his life. May the Holy Spirit convict him of his need for a Savior, leading him to true repentance. Let him encounter Christians in the hospital—nurses, doctors, or chaplains—who will share the Gospel with him. We bind the spirits of addiction, depression, and rebellion in Jesus’ name and command them to flee (Mark 16:17). May he be filled instead with the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and a hunger for righteousness.
To you, dear saint, we say: *Do not grow weary in praying* (Galatians 6:9). Your intercession is powerful. Fast for his soul if led, and speak life over him daily. Remind him of God’s love, but do not enable sin—love sometimes requires tough boundaries. If he is not yet saved, plead with him to receive Christ, for *"there is no other name under heaven... by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). Without Jesus, any recovery is temporary; only He can break the chains forever.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for sparing this young man’s life. Use this trial to draw him to Yourself. Break every generational curse and stronghold of addiction in his bloodline by the blood of Jesus. Fill the void in his heart with Your presence. Raise up godly mentors and a church family to disciple him. Restore his mind, body, and spirit, and give his family wisdom to navigate this season. Let his testimony one day declare, *"I was lost, but now I’m found; I was blind, but now I see"*—all for Your glory. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
Stand firm in faith, believing God for a miracle. We will continue to pray with you. If your grandson does not know the Lord, share the Gospel with him urgently. Time is short, and eternity is at stake. *"Today, if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your heart"* (Hebrews 3:15).
