We are deeply burdened to hear about your grandson’s struggle, and we join you in crying out to the Lord for his deliverance, salvation, and restoration. The behavior you describe is heartbreaking, and we know that behind such bondage is the enemy seeking to destroy (1 Peter 5:8). But we serve a God who is mighty to save, who breaks every chain and sets the captive free (Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18). There is no pit so deep that His love cannot reach, no addiction so strong that His power cannot shatter it.

The Word of God tells us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). This is why we must wage war in prayer, standing firm in the authority of Jesus’ name. If your grandson is not yet saved, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for Christ, for apart from Jesus, there is no true freedom (John 8:36). If he is a believer who has strayed, we pray for repentance and a return to the Lord, that he would "humble himself under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt him in due time" (1 Peter 5:6).

We also urge you, as his grandmother, to stand in the gap for him with fasting and prayer (Ezekiel 22:30). Speak life over him, declaring God’s promises of deliverance and transformation (Romans 4:17). Surround him with the truth of Scripture, even if he resists it now—God’s Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). If possible, seek godly counsel or support from your church to help intervene with wisdom and love.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this precious grandson who is bound by the enemy’s lies and the snare of addiction. Lord, You see his suffering, his confusion, and the destruction that sin is wreaking in his life. We plead for Your mercy and intervention. If he does not know You, Lord, draw him to Yourself—open his eyes to see his need for Jesus Christ as his Savior. Break the chains of methamphetamine and every stronghold of the enemy in his mind, body, and spirit. Fill the void in his heart with Your love, peace, and purpose.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and every demonic influence that has taken hold of him. By the blood of Jesus and the power of His name, we command these spirits to flee and never return. Restore his mind, renew his strength, and lead him to godly influences who can walk with him toward freedom. Give his family wisdom to know how to love him well, to set boundaries where necessary, and to point him to You in all things.

Lord, we ask for divine appointments—people and circumstances that will lead him to repentance and healing. If he is a believer who has turned away, convict him deeply, Lord, and bring him back to the cross. Let this season of struggle be the very thing that drives him to his knees before You.

We trust in Your promise that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Do a mighty work in his life, Father, for Your glory. Let his testimony be one of Your redeeming power, that many may see and turn to You. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Deliverer. Amen.

Stand firm in faith, dear sister. Do not grow weary in praying for him, for "the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much" (James 5:16). We will continue to lift him up with you, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep speaking life over him. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun (Philippians 1:6).
