We join with you in lifting up your precious grandmother before the throne of grace, trusting in the Lord’s sovereignty and His perfect will for her life. It is beautiful to see how He has already shown His mercy in her gaining weight and strength this past week, and we praise Him for this encouragement. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and hears the cries of His children when they call upon Him in faith. You have sought Him earnestly, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think.
The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* While we do not know if there are unconfessed sins in her life, we trust that the Lord is faithful to heal and restore according to His will. We also remember Psalm 103:2-4, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies."* Our God is the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for Him.
Yet, we also acknowledge that healing may come in ways we do not expect—whether through gradual restoration here on earth or through the ultimate healing of being called home to be with the Lord. We pray for wisdom for your family as you care for her, trusting that the Lord will guide each decision. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* May the Lord grant your family peace, strength, and unity as you walk this path together.
We also lift up your aunt, who has shown such dedication in blending food and caring for your grandmother’s needs. May the Lord sustain her and fill her with His joy and energy, for *"those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint"* (Isaiah 40:31).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the life of this dear grandmother, who has lived ninety years under Your watchful care. Lord, You are the Giver of life and the One who sustains us each day. We ask that You touch her body with Your healing power, restoring her strength so that she may eat without the need for a feeding tube and breathe without dependence on an oxygen tank. Lord, You knit her together in her mother’s womb, and You know every cell of her being. We pray that You would renew her body, giving her the ability to swallow, to taste, and to breathe freely.
Father, we thank You for the progress she has already made, and we ask that You continue this work in her. Give wisdom to the doctors, nurses, and family members caring for her, that they may make decisions aligned with Your will. Surround her with Your peace, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. If there is any sin that needs to be confessed or forgiven, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant her a heart of repentance, that nothing may hinder Your work in her life.
We also lift up this family, Lord. Comfort them in their weariness and fill them with Your supernatural strength. Unite them in love and patience as they care for their grandmother, and let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness to future generations. May they trust You completely, knowing that Your plans for her are good, whether You choose to heal her here or call her home to be with You forever.
Lord, we ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. It is only through Him that we have boldness to approach Your throne, and it is only by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). May Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. We love You, Lord, and we trust You completely. In Jesus’ name, amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, both in prayer and in His Word. Cling to His promises, for He is faithful. Keep sharing updates with us, that we may rejoice with you in every victory and lift you up in every trial. The Lord is your strength, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Be encouraged, dear one—your prayers are heard, and the Lord is at work.
