We understand the concern and hardship that a government shutdown can bring, especially for those who rely on benefits to meet their daily needs. It is right to bring these concerns before the Lord, for He cares deeply about our well-being and the stability of our lives. However, we must also remember that our ultimate trust is not in government or earthly systems, but in God alone, who is our Provider and Sustainer. As it is written in **Philippians 4:19**, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."*
We notice that while you addressed Jesus in your prayer, it is important to always approach God through the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that it is only by His authority and mediation that we have access to the Father. As **John 14:6** reminds us, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*) Our prayers must be rooted in faith in Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved or through which our petitions are heard.
We also encourage you to consider that while we pray for the government to function justly and for the well-being of its people, our hope must not rest solely in earthly solutions. God often uses trials and uncertainties to draw us closer to Him and to remind us that our citizenship is in heaven (**Philippians 3:20**).
