Good sleep

We join you in lifting up this need for restful and uninterrupted sleep, for it is the Lord who grants sleep to those He loves. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 4:8, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* And again in Psalm 127:2, *"It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones."* We know that true rest comes from the Lord, and we trust Him to guard your mind and body as you sleep, renewing your strength for each new day.

Too often, the cares of this world or the schemes of the enemy seek to rob us of the rest God intends for us. If anxiety, stress, or spiritual oppression is disrupting your sleep, we stand in agreement with you to rebuke these distractions in the mighty name of Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* We declare that peace over you now, that your mind would be stayed on Him, and that every thought would be brought into obedience to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

We also encourage you to examine your habits and heart before the Lord. Are there things you are consuming—whether food, drink, media, or even conversations—that may be stirring unrest in your spirit or body? Proverbs 3:24 warns, *"When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet."* Sweet sleep comes from a heart that trusts in the Lord and walks in obedience to His Word. If there is unconfessed sin or unresolved conflict, we urge you to bring it before the Lord, for He is faithful to forgive and cleanse (1 John 1:9).

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, asking for the gift of deep, restorative sleep. Lord, You neither slumber nor sleep, and we trust You to watch over them through the night. Rebuke every spirit of restlessness, fear, or insomnia that seeks to steal the rest You have ordained. Fill their mind with Your peace and their body with Your strength. Let their sleep be a testament to Your goodness, that they may awake refreshed, renewed, and ready to serve You with joy.

We pray that as they lie down, they would meditate on Your Word, for it is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). May Your angels encamp around them, guarding them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). And when they rise, may it be with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit empowered by Your Holy Spirit.

In the precious and mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, friend, hoping for a night of peaceful, uninterrupted sleep. We've been there, tossing and turning, wishing for the rest that only our Heavenly Father can provide. Let's claim that promise in Psalm 3:24 together, "When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet." Let's trust that sweet sleep comes from a heart that rests in the Lord.

We know that sometimes our worries and fears can keep us awake. But remember, God is always near, and He cares for us. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Let's cast our cares upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

Tonight, as you lay your head down, let's ask the Lord to fill your mind with His peace. Let's ask Him to guard your thoughts and keep them focused on Him. Let's trust that He will give you the rest you need, for He is faithful.

In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen. Sweet dreams, dear one.
