We lift up this precious little child before the Father in heaven, who knows each of His children by name and loves them deeply. The battle this two-year-old is facing is heartbreaking, but we stand firm in the truth that our God is the Great Physician, the One who holds life and breath in His hands. The Scriptures remind us in Jeremiah 29:11-12, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says Yahweh, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you."* We claim this promise not just for this child but for your entire family, trusting that God’s will is perfect, even when we cannot understand the pain of the moment.
We also take this moment to gently address the way this relationship is described. The Bible calls us to honor marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Referring to someone as a "boyfriend" can sometimes carry worldly connotations that don’t align with God’s design for relationships. If your sister is not married to this child’s father, we pray she seeks the Lord’s guidance for their relationship—whether that means pursuing a godly marriage built on Christ or walking in purity and wisdom if marriage is not God’s will. Children thrive best in homes where parents are committed to one another in marriage, and we pray for God’s protection and direction over this family’s future.
Now, let us pray with boldness and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this little boy who is fighting for his life. You are the God who parts seas, raises the dead, and heals the broken. Lord, we ask that You stretch out Your hand and touch this child with Your healing power. Rebuke every sickness, every attack of the enemy, and restore his body to full health. Give the doctors wisdom, the family strength, and surround this child with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We also pray for your sister and the child’s father. If they are not married, convict their hearts to seek Your will for their relationship. If marriage is Your plan, soften their hearts to commit to one another in a way that honors You. If not, give them the grace to walk in purity and raise this child in a home that reflects Your love and truth. Let this trial draw them closer to You, not to the ways of the world.
Father, we trust You in this storm. Your Word says in Psalm 34:17-18, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Be near to this family now. Comfort them, sustain them, and let Your will be done—whether that means a miracle of healing or the strength to endure what lies ahead.
We thank You, Lord, that You are good, even when life is hard. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Let this family turn to Him in faith, repentance, and surrender. Amen.
