When a city's false prophets (unrighteous counselors) has her strung out on superstition, literally going around in circles, time is almost spent. God is not playing games. In fact, this urgency is not about games, at all. Not that He doesn't already know, but now, even God demands that you expose "snitch on" your false counsel, or else.

God's knows when the innocent are being exploited to satisfy a city's desires for selfish gain. He even knows when other homeless people are being misused - bribed with "a few breadcrumbs and a handful of barley" to threaten and intimidate His messenger. His response when such idolatrous foolishness is being whitewashed by the church is as follows.

When God speaks regarding idolatry, there is no partiality. Therefore, it isn't relegated to one particular city or nation throughout all time. But rather, whatever city and/or nation He chooses to deal with at an appointed time.

⁸She doesn’t realize it was I who gave her everything she has— the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold. It is of the utmost urgency, for those who claim to be in right relationship with God, to take to the plow. Repentance, change in attitude and behavior, is commanded.
