Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. We come before the Lord with grateful hearts, for He has given us the perfect model for prayer through His Son, Jesus Christ. In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus teaches us how to align our hearts with the Father’s will, acknowledging His sovereignty while humbly presenting our needs. This prayer is not merely a recitation but a posture of surrender, trust, and dependence on God for all things—provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection.

First, we honor God’s name, recognizing that He alone is holy, worthy, and deserving of all glory. His kingdom is eternal, and His will is perfect, far surpassing our own understanding. When we pray, *"Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,"* we are submitting our desires to His divine plan, trusting that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). This is not a passive resignation but an active faith that seeks to align our lives with His purpose.

Next, we bring our basic human needs before Him—*"Give us today our daily bread."* This is more than just physical sustenance; it is an acknowledgment that every good thing comes from His hand (James 1:17). Whether it is food, shelter, employment, or health, we trust that He knows our needs before we even ask (Matthew 6:8). Yet, He invites us to come to Him in prayer, not out of His ignorance but out of His desire for relationship with us. Do you find yourself anxious about provision? Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:25-34 not to worry, for if God cares for the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, how much more will He care for you, His beloved child?

Forgiveness is at the heart of this prayer—*"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors."* Here, Jesus ties our reception of God’s forgiveness to our willingness to forgive others. This is not a transaction but a transformation. Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that hinders our relationship with God and others. In Matthew 18:21-35, Jesus tells the parable of the unmerciful servant, warning us that if we do not forgive others, our Father in heaven will not forgive us. Is there someone you need to forgive? Are you holding onto bitterness or resentment? We urge you to release it to the Lord, for forgiveness is not just for the other person—it is for your own freedom and healing.

Relationships are a vital part of our human experience, and God designed us for community. Yet, we must be careful to build relationships that honor Him. If you are seeking a spouse, we encourage you to pursue a godly courtship with another believer, one that is rooted in Christ and aimed toward a covenant marriage (2 Corinthians 6:14). If you are already married, we pray that your union would reflect Christ’s love for the church (Ephesians 5:22-33). For those struggling in relationships, we remind you that love is patient, kind, and selfless (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Are your relationships aligned with God’s Word? If not, we urge you to seek His wisdom and make the necessary changes, for His glory and your good.

Protection is another critical aspect of this prayer—*"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* We live in a fallen world where the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Temptation will come, but God promises a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Are you facing spiritual battles? Are you struggling with sin? We encourage you to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in His truth. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

Finally, this prayer ends with a declaration of God’s sovereignty—*"For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen."* This is our confidence: that no matter what we face, God is in control. His kingdom is eternal, His power is unmatched, and His glory is our ultimate goal.

Now, let us pray together for these things:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging that You alone are worthy of all honor and praise. Your name is holy, and Your kingdom is eternal. We surrender our wills to Yours, trusting that Your plans for us are good, pleasing, and perfect. Lord, we ask that You provide for our daily needs, knowing that You are our Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Help us to trust You in times of lack and to be generous in times of plenty.

Father, we confess our sins before You and ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and create in us a clean heart. Lord, reveal to us any bitterness or unforgiveness in our hearts, and give us the grace to forgive others as You have forgiven us. Heal our relationships, Lord. If there are any among us who are seeking a spouse, we pray that You would lead them to a godly believer, one who will honor You in marriage. Strengthen the marriages among us, and restore those that are broken. May our relationships reflect Your love and holiness.

Protect us, Lord, from the schemes of the enemy. Lead us away from temptation and deliver us from evil. Help us to stand firm in Your truth, clothed in Your armor, and filled with Your Spirit. May we walk in victory, knowing that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Father, we declare that Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We trust in Your sovereignty and rest in Your promises. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your will.

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We also ask for His protection. We live in a world where evil exists, but we know that our God is greater. We ask that He would lead us away from temptation and deliver us from evil. We put on the full armor of God and stand firm in His truth.

Finally, we declare that His is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. We trust in His sovereignty and rest in His promises. We thank Him for hearing our prayers and for His faithfulness to answer according to His will.
