🙏 God's Will & Our Basic, Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

🙏"Pray like this: ‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We see your heart’s cry for God’s will to be done in your life, especially in the foundational areas of provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection—all of which Jesus Himself taught us to lift before the Father in the Lord’s Prayer. How beautiful it is that you’ve turned to Matthew 6:9-13 as your guide, for these words are not merely a prayer to recite but a blueprint for how we are to approach our Heavenly Father: with reverence, dependence, humility, and a heart aligned with His kingdom.

First, let us affirm that your focus on God’s will above all else is the right posture. Jesus begins this prayer by directing our attention to the holiness of God’s name, the coming of His kingdom, and the submission of our wills to His. This is not a passive surrender but an active trust that His ways are higher, His provision sufficient, His forgiveness complete, and His protection unwavering. When we pray, *"Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,"* we are acknowledging that His plans for us are good, even when our human eyes cannot yet see the full picture. *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways," declares Yahweh. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"* (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB).

You’ve highlighted four basic human needs—provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection—and these are indeed the very things Jesus instructs us to bring before the Father. Let us address each one with the truth of Scripture and lift them together in prayer.

**Provision:** *"Give us today our daily bread."* This petition reminds us that our dependence on God is not just spiritual but practical. He is the one who provides for our physical needs, and we are to trust Him one day at a time. Yet, this request also points to something deeper: our need for *Him* as the Bread of Life. Jesus said, *"I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty"* (John 6:35, WEB). Are you seeking His provision not just for material needs but for the sustenance of your soul? He is faithful to provide both. *"Don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘With what will we be clothed?’ ... for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:31-33, WEB).

**Forgiveness:** *"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors."* Here, Jesus ties our reception of God’s forgiveness to our willingness to extend it to others. This is not a transaction but a transformation. If we claim to be forgiven yet harbor bitterness or unforgiveness in our hearts, we are living in contradiction to the grace we’ve received. *"If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:14-15, WEB). Is there anyone you need to forgive? Or perhaps you need to receive God’s forgiveness anew for yourself? His mercy is fresh every morning, and He longs to cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

**Relationships:** While the Lord’s Prayer does not explicitly mention relationships, the principles of forgiveness, unity, and love are woven throughout Scripture as essential to our walk with God and others. We are called to love one another as Christ loved us (John 13:34), to pursue peace and holiness (Hebrews 12:14), and to flee from relationships that dishonor God. If you are seeking godly relationships—whether in friendship, family, or marriage—let them be rooted in Christ and aligned with His Word. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). If you are single and desiring marriage, we pray you seek a *spouse*—not just a partner—who is a believer, committed to Christ, and pursuing holiness. If you are married, we pray you honor that covenant with fidelity, love, and sacrifice, as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25). And if there is sin in your relationships—such as fornication, adultery, or any sexual immorality—we urge you to repent and turn to God’s design for purity and wholeness. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB).

**Protection:** *"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* This is a plea for God’s guidance and protection from the snares of the enemy. Temptation is common to all, but God is faithful to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Are you actively resisting the devil and drawing near to God (James 4:7)? Are you putting on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the evil one (Ephesians 6:10-18)? Protection is not just about physical safety but spiritual vigilance. *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith"* (1 Peter 5:8-9, WEB).

Now, let us pray together for these needs, lifting them before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). We notice you included *"in Jesus’ Name"* at the end of your post, and we rejoice in this, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus alone that we come boldly to God, and it is in His name that we pray with authority and confidence.

---
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts aligned to Your will, just as Your Son taught us. We honor Your name, Lord, for You alone are holy, righteous, and worthy of all praise. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in this beloved one’s life, just as it is in heaven. We surrender their plans, their desires, and their needs to You, trusting that Your ways are perfect.

Father, we ask for Your provision in every area of their life. You know their needs before they even ask, and we thank You that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Give them their daily bread, Lord—not just the physical sustenance they require but the spiritual nourishment that comes from Your Word and Your presence. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them.

We pray for a heart of forgiveness to flood their soul. If there is any bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness lingering, we ask that You would soften their heart and enable them to release it to You. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, Lord, so that nothing hinders their relationship with You. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and fill them with Your peace.

For their relationships, Father, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment. If they are seeking a spouse, lead them to a godly believer who will walk with them in faith and love. If they are married, strengthen their bond, deepen their love, and guard their marriage from any attack of the enemy. If there is any sin in their relationships—whether fornication, adultery, or any form of immorality—we pray for conviction and repentance. Restore them to purity and holiness, Lord, and surround them with relationships that honor You.

Protect them, Father, from the schemes of the evil one. Lead them not into temptation but deliver them from all harm. Clothe them in Your armor so they may stand firm against the enemy’s attacks. Give them discernment to recognize his lies and the strength to resist him. Hide them under the shadow of Your wings, for You are their refuge and fortress.

We declare that Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. May this beloved one walk in the confidence that You are sovereign over every detail of their life. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guide their steps, and let Your will be done in and through them.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, standing in the gap and lifting your petitions to our Heavenly Father. This is not a passive surrender but an active trust that His ways are higher, His provision sufficient, His forgiveness complete, and His protection unwavering.

Now, let's address each of your requests, dear one:

1. **Provision**: We pray that God would provide for your daily needs, both physical and spiritual. We ask that you would seek His kingdom first and trust that all these things will be added to you. May you find your sustenance not just in material provisions but also in the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ.

2. **Forgiveness**: We intercede for a heart of forgiveness to flood your soul. If there's any bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness lingering, we ask that God would soften your heart and enable you to release it to Him. Help you to forgive as you have been forgiven, Lord, so that nothing hinders your relationship with Him.

3. **Relationships**: For your relationships, Father, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment. If you're seeking a spouse, lead them to a godly believer who will walk with them in faith and love. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
