🙏 God's Will & Our Basic, Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

Faithful Servant
🙏"Pray like this: ‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We come together before the Lord with hearts aligned to His Word, recognizing that His will is perfect, and His provision is abundant for those who seek Him. The prayer Jesus taught His disciples in Matthew 6:9-13 is a profound model for how we are to approach our Heavenly Father—with reverence, dependence, and a heart of surrender. It covers our most basic human needs: provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection, all while exalting God’s name and submitting to His sovereign will.

First, we honor God’s name, acknowledging that He alone is holy and worthy of all praise. His kingdom and His will must take precedence in our lives, for His plans are far greater than our own. When we pray, *"Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,"* we are declaring our trust in His authority over every aspect of our lives—our finances, our relationships, our struggles, and our future. Too often, we seek our own desires first, but Jesus teaches us to prioritize God’s glory above all else. If our prayers are centered on our own comfort rather than His will, we must repent and realign our hearts with His purposes.

Next, we bring our needs before Him, asking for *"our daily bread."* This is not just about physical sustenance but also about trusting God for every necessity—spiritual, emotional, and material. Many of us worry about provision, but Jesus reminds us that our Heavenly Father knows what we need before we even ask (Matthew 6:8). Yet, He still invites us to come to Him in faith, casting all our anxieties upon Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). If we are struggling with fear or doubt about God’s provision, we must remember that He who feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field will certainly provide for His children (Matthew 6:26-30). Our lack of faith does not change His faithfulness, but it can rob us of the peace He offers.

Forgiveness is another critical aspect of this prayer. We ask God to *"forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors."* This is a sobering reminder that our forgiveness from God is directly tied to our willingness to forgive others. Harboring bitterness or unforgiveness in our hearts is a sin that hinders our relationship with the Lord. If we claim to love God yet refuse to forgive those who have wronged us, we are living in disobedience. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Let us examine our hearts today—is there someone we need to forgive? Are we holding onto resentment that is blocking God’s forgiveness in our own lives? We must release it to Him now, for our sake and for the sake of our witness.

Relationships are also at the core of this prayer. When we ask for forgiveness and extend it to others, we are nurturing the unity and love that Christ commands among believers. But we must also be mindful of the relationships we pursue. The world often distorts God’s design for marriage and family, promoting unions that contradict Scripture. We affirm that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Any relationship outside of this design—whether premarital intimacy, adultery, or same-sex unions—is sin and must be repented of. If you are in a relationship that does not honor God’s Word, we urge you to turn away from it and seek His forgiveness and guidance. Courtship should be pursued with the intent of marriage, and only between believers who are equally yoked in faith (2 Corinthians 6:14). Anything less is settling for counterfeit love rather than the abundant life God offers.

Protection is the final plea in this prayer: *"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* We live in a fallen world where the enemy seeks to devour and destroy (1 Peter 5:8). Temptation is real, and without God’s strength, we are powerless to resist it. But Jesus assures us that we can overcome through Him (1 Corinthians 10:13). We must be vigilant, putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and fleeing from sin rather than entertaining it. If you are struggling with a particular temptation—whether it be lust, greed, pride, or addiction—confess it now and ask the Lord to break its power over you. You do not have to fight alone; His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Finally, we end this prayer by declaring God’s sovereignty: *"For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen."* This is our confession of faith—that God is in control, that His power is supreme, and that all glory belongs to Him. When we pray in this manner, we are not just reciting words; we are aligning our hearts with Heaven’s perspective. Too often, prayers become about our own desires rather than God’s glory. But when we pray as Jesus taught, we are transformed. Our worries fade, our faith grows, and our lives begin to reflect His kingdom here on earth.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging that You alone are worthy of all honor and praise. Your name is holy, and Your kingdom is eternal. Lord, we surrender our wills to Yours, asking that Your purposes would prevail in our lives, our families, our churches, and our nations. Teach us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide all we need (Matthew 6:33).

Father, we ask for our daily bread—not just the food that sustains our bodies, but the spiritual nourishment that comes from Your Word. Help us to trust You completely, knowing that You are our Jehova Jireh, our Provider. Forgive us for the times we have doubted Your goodness or tried to rely on our own strength. We repent of our fear and ask You to fill us with Your peace.

Lord, we confess our sins before You now. Search our hearts and reveal any unforgiveness, bitterness, or resentment we may be harboring. Help us to extend the same grace to others that You have so freely given to us. We choose to forgive those who have wronged us, releasing them into Your hands. Cleanse us, Lord, and restore our relationships according to Your will.

We lift up our marriages and families to You. Strengthen the bonds of love and commitment between husbands and wives, that they may reflect Christ’s love for the church. Protect our children and guide them in Your truth. For those who are single, we ask for godly spouses who will honor You and walk in faith together. Break any ungodly soul ties and deliver those who are trapped in sinful relationships. Lead them to repentance and restoration.

Father, we ask for Your protection over our lives. Deliver us from the schemes of the evil one and keep us from temptation. When we are weak, be our strength. When we are afraid, be our shield. Help us to stand firm in the faith, resisting the devil and drawing near to You (James 4:7).

We declare that Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. May our lives bring You honor, and may Your will be done in us and through us. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who taught us to pray in this way. Amen.

Beloved, as we close, let us remember that prayer is not a ritual but a relationship. God longs for us to come to Him with open hearts, ready to receive His love, His correction, and His guidance. If you have never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. Only then can you truly pray as Jesus taught, with the confidence of a child of God.

If you are struggling in any area—whether it be provision, forgiveness, relationships, or protection—we encourage you to seek godly counsel and immerse yourself in Scripture. The Word of God is alive and powerful, and it will equip you for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Do not walk this journey alone. Surround yourself with believers who will pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). Walk in His truth, and trust in His promises. He is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!
