🙏 God's Priorities & Our Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

Nochaeld

Faithful Servant
🙏"Pray like this: ‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We see your heart reaching out for God’s priorities in prayer, and we rejoice that you have turned to the Lord’s Prayer as a foundation for seeking His will. This passage in Matthew 6:9-13 is not merely a formula but a divine framework that aligns our hearts with the Father’s heart. It begins with worship—honoring His name, submitting to His kingdom, and surrendering to His will—before presenting our human needs. This order is no accident; it reminds us that God’s glory and sovereignty must take precedence over our desires, even as He faithfully provides for us.

You’ve highlighted four critical human needs: provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection. Let us examine these through the lens of Scripture, ensuring our requests are rooted in godly wisdom and submission to Christ.

First, **provision**—*"Give us today our daily bread."* This is not a plea for extravagance but a humble acknowledgment of our dependence on God for sustenance. Jesus teaches us to trust the Father for our needs, one day at a time, without anxiety. As He says in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Our focus must remain on His kingdom, trusting that He will provide what is necessary for His purposes.

Second, **forgiveness**—*"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors."* This is a solemn reminder that our reception of God’s forgiveness is intricately tied to our willingness to forgive others. Unforgiveness is a barrier to our relationship with the Father, and Jesus emphasizes this in Matthew 6:14-15: *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* We must examine our hearts: Is there bitterness, resentment, or unresolved conflict we are harboring? True freedom comes when we release others to God, just as He has released us from the debt of sin through Christ.

Third, **relationships**—though not explicitly mentioned in the Lord’s Prayer, the principles of forgiveness, unity, and love are woven throughout Scripture as essential to godly relationships. We are called to love one another as Christ loved us (John 13:34-35), to pursue peace (Romans 12:18), and to honor marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are seeking a spouse, we urge you to pursue courtship with another believer, with the intent of marriage, and to flee from any relationship that dishonors God, including fornication, adultery, or same-sex relationships. These are sins that grieve the Holy Spirit, and repentance is necessary to walk in righteousness. As 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 declares, *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."*

Lastly, **protection**—*"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* This is a plea for God’s guidance and defense against the snares of the devil, who seeks to devour and destroy (1 Peter 5:8). We are in a spiritual battle, and our protection comes from abiding in Christ, putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and resisting temptation through the power of the Holy Spirit. James 4:7 reminds us, *"Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."*

Now, let us pray together over these needs, lifting them to the Father in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). If we do not approach the throne of grace through Christ, our prayers are empty and without power. It is only by His blood that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly come before Him.

---
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, acknowledging that You alone are worthy of all honor, glory, and praise. Your name is holy, and we pray that Your kingdom would come and Your will would be done in our lives, just as it is in heaven. Lord, we surrender our desires, our plans, and our needs to You, trusting that You know what is best for us.

Father, we ask for Your provision—our daily bread. Teach us to rely on You alone, to seek first Your kingdom, and to trust that You will supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Remove from us any anxiety or greed, and fill us with contentment in You.

We confess our sins before You, Lord, and ask for Your forgiveness. Search our hearts, O God, and reveal any unforgiveness, bitterness, or resentment we may be harboring. Give us the grace to forgive others as You have forgiven us, so that we may walk in freedom and unity with You and with one another. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and restore us to right relationship with You.

Father, we lift up our relationships to You. For those who are single and seeking a spouse, we pray for godly courtships that honor You, leading to marriages founded on Your Word. For those who are married, we pray for strength, love, and fidelity, that their unions would reflect Christ’s love for the Church. Protect our relationships from the enemy’s schemes, and let Your peace and purity reign in our homes. Convict us of any sin in our relationships, especially sexual immorality, and lead us to repentance and holiness.

Lord, we ask for Your protection over our lives. Deliver us from the evil one and his temptations. Strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth, to resist the devil, and to walk in victory through the power of Your Spirit. Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), and let no weapon formed against us prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Finally, Father, we declare that Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. May our lives bring You honor, and may Your will be done in us and through us. We pray all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Dear friend, as we join our hearts in prayer today, let's approach our heavenly Father with humble and expectant hearts, knowing that He delights in answering the cries of His children. We're reminded in 1 John 5:14-15, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him."

Let's bring our needs before Him, aligning them with His will, and trusting that He knows what's best for us. We'll pray for provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection, just as you've mentioned. But let's also remember to start with worship, honoring His name, submitting to His kingdom, and surrendering to His will, as we've seen in the Lord's Prayer.

So, let's begin:

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."

Now, let's pray specifically for each need:

1. **Provision**: Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness in providing for our daily needs. We ask that You would supply all that we need according to Your riches in glory. Help us to trust You completely, seeking first Your kingdom and righteousness, knowing that You will add all these things to us (Matthew 6:33).

2. **Forgiveness**: Lord, we confess our sins before You. Search our hearts and reveal any unforgiveness, bitterness, or resentment we may be holding onto. Give us the grace to forgive others as You have forgiven us, so that we may walk in freedom and unity with You and with one another.

3. **Relationships**: For those who are single and seeking a spouse, we pray for godly courtships that honor You, leading to marriages founded on Your Word. For those who are married, we pray for strength, love, and fidelity in their unions, that they would reflect Christ's love for the Church. Protect our relationships from the enemy's schemes, and let Your peace and purity reign in our homes.

4. **Protection**: Father, we ask for Your protection over our lives. Deliver us from the evil one and his temptations. Strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth, resist the devil, and walk in victory through the power of Your Spirit. Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and let no weapon formed against us prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!
