🙏 God's Priorities & Our Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

🙏"Pray like this: ‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We see your heart seeking to align with the Lord’s Prayer, and we commend you for turning to Scripture to shape your prayers. The words of Jesus in Matthew 6:9-13 are a profound model for how we ought to approach God—prioritizing His glory, His kingdom, and His will above our own needs. Yet, even as we lift up our human concerns—provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection—we must do so with the understanding that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His priorities must shape ours.

You’ve rightly highlighted the tension between God’s divine priorities and our human needs, and this is a struggle many believers face. The Lord’s Prayer begins with worship, not with our requests. It starts with *"Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."* Only after this do we bring our petitions—*daily bread, forgiveness, deliverance*—before Him. This order is not accidental. Jesus teaches us that our first concern must be the glory of God, the advancement of His kingdom, and submission to His will. When we seek these first, we can trust that He will provide what we truly need, as He promises in Matthew 6:33: *"But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*

Yet, we also recognize that human needs are real and pressing. The Lord knows we require daily bread, forgiveness, healthy relationships, and protection from evil. He is not indifferent to these things—in fact, He invites us to bring them before Him. But we must do so with hearts that are first surrendered to His lordship. When we pray for provision, we must ask ourselves: *Are we seeking His kingdom above our comfort?* When we pray for forgiveness, we must examine: *Are we extending that same forgiveness to others, as Christ commands?* When we pray for relationships, we must consider: *Are we pursuing connections that honor God, or are we allowing worldly desires to dictate our choices?* And when we pray for protection, we must trust that His deliverance may not always look the way we expect, but it is always for our ultimate good and His glory.

We also notice that while you’ve included *"in Jesus’ Name"* at the end, the prayer itself does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus as the authority by which we approach the Father. This is not a small matter. Jesus Himself tells us in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He says, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* Our access to God is *only* through Jesus Christ, and our prayers must reflect that dependence. It is not enough to tag His name at the end as an afterthought—our entire prayer must be rooted in faith in Him, submitted to His authority, and aligned with His will.

If you have not already, we urge you to examine your heart: *Do you truly know Jesus as your Lord and Savior?* Have you repented of your sins and placed your faith in His death and resurrection for your salvation? There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and no prayer is heard by the Father apart from the mediation of Christ. If this is an area of uncertainty for you, we implore you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in Him, and surrender your life to His lordship. Only then can you pray with the confidence that your requests are heard and aligned with His will.

Now, let us pray together for you, that your heart would be fully submitted to God’s priorities, and that your needs would be met as you seek Him first:

*"Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of prayer and for the model Your Son, Jesus, has given us. Lord, we lift up this beloved one before You, asking that You would align their heart with Your priorities. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide all they need. Father, forgive us when we place our desires above Your will. Teach us to pray with hearts fully surrendered to You, knowing that Your ways are perfect and Your timing is flawless.

We ask that You would meet their needs—provision, forgiveness, godly relationships, and protection—but always in ways that bring You glory. Guard them from the temptation to seek these things apart from You or in ways that dishonor Your name. Remind them that every good gift comes from You, and that true fulfillment is found only in Christ.

Lord, if there is any area of their life where they have not fully submitted to You, we pray for conviction and repentance. Draw them closer to You, and let them experience the peace that comes from trusting in Your sovereignty. May their prayers be rooted in faith in Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne.

We rebuke any spirit of anxiety, self-reliance, or worldly desire that would distract from Your perfect will. Holy Spirit, fill them with Your presence and guide them into all truth. Let them walk in the confidence that You are their Provider, their Redeemer, their Protector, and their Father.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."*

We're right there with you, seeking to align our hearts with God's priorities. It's a beautiful thing to see you turning to Scripture to shape your prayers, especially Jesus' model in Matthew 6:9-13. Let's continue to lift our hearts and needs to Him, remembering that while our needs are real, His priorities are ultimate.

We love how you've included "in Jesus' name" at the end of your prayer. It's a powerful reminder that we approach God's throne through Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6). Let's strive to ensure our entire prayer life is rooted in faith in Him, submitted to His authority, and aligned with His will.

As we pray together, let's ask God to meet your needs - provision, forgiveness, relationships, and protection - but always in ways that bring Him glory. Let's trust that His ways are perfect, even when they don't align with our expectations. And if there's any area where we haven't fully surrendered, let's ask for conviction and repentance, drawing closer to Him.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

We have been so encouraged to lift your prayer before the Father, asking Him to align your heart with His priorities even as He faithfully meets your deepest needs. It has been our joy to stand with you in agreement, praying that His will would be done in your life just as it is in heaven—trusting Him for daily provision, the grace to forgive as you’ve been forgiven, restored relationships, and His mighty protection over you.

As we continue to seek the Lord on your behalf, we want you to know we are still holding fast to His promises for you. If God has moved in your situation, we would love to rejoice with you—please share a praise report so we can give Him the glory together. If you are still waiting for His answer, we invite you to post this request again so we can persevere in prayer with you, trusting that He is working even in the waiting.

May the Lord deepen your faith as you seek Him, and may you find peace in knowing that He hears and cares for every detail of your life. We are standing with you, believing that His Kingdom, power, and glory will be made known in your circumstances. In Jesus Name.
