šŸ™ God's Priorities & Our Human Needs, (Provision, Forgiveness, Relationships, Protection) Matt 6:9-13

Faithful Servant
šŸ™"Pray like this: ā€˜Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

We see your heart’s cry to align with God’s priorities over human needs, and we rejoice that you’ve turned to the Lord’s Prayer as your foundation. This passage in Matthew 6:9-13 is not just a model for prayer but a divine blueprint for how we are to live—seeking first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide all we need (Matthew 6:33). You’ve rightly highlighted the tension between our earthly concerns and God’s eternal purposes, and we commend you for seeking His will above all else.

The Lord’s Prayer begins with worship, not with our needs. *"Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored."* This reminds us that God’s glory is the ultimate priority. Before we ask for anything, we acknowledge who He is—the sovereign, holy, and loving Father who deserves all honor. Then we pray, *"Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."* This is a surrender of our own agendas, trusting that His plans are far greater than ours. How often do we rush into prayer with our lists of requests, only to realize we’ve barely paused to worship Him or submit to His will? Let us repent of this and realign our hearts with His purposes.

You’ve also pointed to the petitions for provision, forgiveness, and protection—*"Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* These are not just requests; they are declarations of dependence. We rely on God for our physical needs, our spiritual cleansing, and our deliverance from evil. Notice how forgiveness is tied to our willingness to forgive others—this is a solemn reminder that our relationship with God is intricately linked to our relationships with others. Unforgiveness is a barrier to experiencing God’s grace in our own lives. If there is anyone you need to forgive, we urge you to do so immediately, for your own freedom and obedience to Christ.

Lastly, the prayer closes with worship again: *"For yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever."* This bookends our petitions with praise, ensuring that our focus remains on God’s supremacy, not our circumstances. Even in our needs, we are called to trust Him completely.

Now, let us pray together for you, that your heart would remain steadfast in seeking God’s kingdom above all else, and that you would experience His provision, forgiveness, and protection in every area of your life.

---
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your Word, which teaches us how to pray and how to live. Lord, we lift up this beloved brother/sister who desires to align their life with Your priorities. Father, forgive us for the times we have placed our needs, desires, or fears above Your will. Teach us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide all we need.

Lord, we ask that You would open their eyes to see Your hand at work in their life, even in the small things. Provide their daily bread—whether it be physical sustenance, emotional strength, or spiritual nourishment. Remind them that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. When anxiety about provision creeps in, let them recall the words of Jesus: *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ā€˜What will we eat?’ ā€˜What will we drink?’ or, ā€˜With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* (Matthew 6:31-33, WEB).

Father, we also pray for a heart of forgiveness. If there is any bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness lurking in their heart, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant them the grace to release it. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, remembering that *"if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you don’t forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* (Matthew 6:14-15, WEB). Cleanse their heart, Lord, and let them walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness.

We pray for protection over their life—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The enemy seeks to devour, but You, Lord, are their shield and strong tower. *"Lead them not into temptation, but deliver them from the evil one."* Strengthen them to resist the devil, knowing that he will flee when they stand firm in You (James 4:7). Guard their mind from lies, their heart from despair, and their steps from stumbling.

Finally, Father, we pray that their life would be a testament to Your kingdom, power, and glory. Let them live in such a way that others see Your goodness and turn to You. May their prayers be marked by worship, their days by trust, and their heart by surrender.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who taught us to pray in this way. Amen.

We're right there with you, dear friend, echoing your heart's cry to align with God's priorities. It's a beautiful thing to see you turning to the Lord's Prayer as your foundation. Let's dive into it together, shall we?

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name." This opening line, it's like a big, warm hug from our heavenly Dad. It's a reminder that He's not just some distant, unapproachable Being. He's our Father, and He's in heaven, which means He's got everything under control. But it's also a declaration of His holiness, His otherness. He's not like us, and that's a good thing. It's a call to worship, to acknowledge who He is and who we are in relation to Him.

"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Now, this is where it gets real. We're saying, "God, we want Your will, not ours. We want Your kingdom, not ours." It's a surrender, a letting go of our own agendas. It's trusting that His plans are far greater than ours. It's not always easy, is it? But it's always right.

"Give us today our daily bread." We're asking for provision, for our daily needs. But it's more than just food. It's emotional strength, spiritual nourishment. It's the grace to face each day. And we're trusting that He'll provide, just like He always has.

"And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." Forgiveness is a big deal, isn't it? We're asking for it, but we're also promising to give it. It's a two-way street. If there's anyone you need to forgive, friend, don't wait. Do it now. It's not just about them. It's about you, and your freedom.

"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." We're asking for protection, for deliverance. We're saying, "God, I can't do this on my own. I need You." And He's there, ready to help, ready to deliver.

"For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen." We started with worship, and we're ending with worship. It's a bookend, a reminder that our focus is on Him, not on our circumstances. Even in our needs, we trust Him completely.

So, let's pray together, shall we? Let's ask God to help you seek His kingdom above all else. Let's ask Him to provide for your needs, to forgive you, to protect you. And let's ask Him to help you forgive others, to live in freedom and obedience to Christ.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
