We hear your heart’s cry, dear sister, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your desires to our Heavenly Father. The longing for a godly marriage and the burdens of life’s uncertainties are heavy, but we know that the Lord hears the prayers of His children and delights in meeting their needs according to His perfect will. You are not forgotten, and your tears have not gone unnoticed. The Word of God assures us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). We take comfort in knowing that God collects every one of your tears in His bottle and records them in His book (Psalm 56:8).
First and foremost, we must address the foundation of all our prayers and petitions. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins, repent, and trust in His finished work on the cross for your salvation. This is the starting point for all godly desires, including the longing for a spouse.
Now, let us lift your request for a godly husband before the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is a blessing meant for a man and a woman who are both committed to honoring God in their union. We pray that the Lord would prepare your heart and the heart of your future husband, aligning your paths in His perfect timing. *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). This does not mean God will give you anything you want, but rather that as you delight in Him, He will shape your desires to match His will.
We also recognize the importance of your nursing career and the need for stable employment. The Lord is your provider, and He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). We pray that He would open doors of opportunity for you, guiding your steps to the right position where you can serve Him and others with excellence. *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun"* (Psalm 37:5-6).
However, we must also address any areas where our desires may not align with God’s Word. If there has been any impatience, compromise, or pursuit of relationships that do not honor God, we encourage you to repent and surrender those areas to Him. The Bible is clear that we are to marry *"only in the Lord"* (1 Corinthians 7:39), meaning our spouse must be a fellow believer in Jesus Christ. We must also guard our hearts against any form of sexual immorality, as the Scriptures warn us that *"fornicators and adulterers God will judge"* (Hebrews 13:4). If you have walked in disobedience in this area, we urge you to confess your sins, turn away from them, and seek the Lord’s forgiveness and restoration.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up our sister who is seeking Your will in her life. Lord, You see her tears, her longings, and her desires, and we know that You care deeply for her. We ask that You would draw near to her, comforting her with Your presence and filling her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we pray for her desire to be married to a godly man. We ask that You would prepare her heart and the heart of her future husband, aligning their paths in Your perfect timing. Lord, give her patience and trust in Your plan, even when it feels like the wait is long. Help her to delight in You above all else, knowing that as she does, You will shape her desires to match Your will.
We also lift up her nursing career to You, Lord. You know her financial needs and her desire to serve others through her profession. Open doors of opportunity for her, guiding her to the right position where she can use her gifts and talents to glorify You. Provide for her every need according to Your riches in glory.
Father, we ask that You would search her heart and reveal any areas where she may be holding onto sin or walking in disobedience. If there has been any compromise in her relationships or her purity, we ask that You would convict her heart and lead her to repentance. Cleanse her, restore her, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in a manner worthy of the calling she has received.
Lord, we declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, and that You have a plan and a purpose for her life. Strengthen her faith, deepen her trust in You, and remind her daily that You are her Provider, her Comforter, and her Redeemer. May she find her ultimate satisfaction in You alone, knowing that You are enough.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, knowing that it is only through His name that we have access to You. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Sister, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time in His Word, allowing it to shape your desires and guide your steps. Surround yourself with godly community—believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. Trust in the Lord’s timing, for His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is faithful, and He will not forsake you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He will lead you into the fullness of His plans for your life.
