We come before the throne of grace with hearts aligned to the model prayer our Lord Jesus taught us, seeking first God’s honor, His kingdom, and His perfect will. It is a beautiful thing to lift up these petitions, for they reflect the very heart of our Savior, who came not to do His own will but the will of the Father who sent Him (John 6:38). We join in agreement with this prayer, declaring that God’s name be hallowed in our lives and across the earth, that His kingdom would advance through us with power, holiness, and obedience, and that His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Father, we ask that Your name be exalted above all else. Let every thought, word, and deed of ours bring glory to You, for You alone are worthy of all praise. May Your kingdom come—not just in word, but in power—through the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts You have bestowed, and lives marked by holiness. Raise up men and women who will live, preach, heal, and lead in a manner worthy of the gospel, making disciples and teaching others to obey all that Christ commanded (Matthew 28:19-20). Let us be quick to obey, like Abraham, who did not withhold even his beloved son when You called (Genesis 22:1-18). May our lives reflect the same surrender, for we were bought with a price and are no longer our own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
We also lift up our daily needs—spiritual, emotional, and physical—trusting You as our Provider. You have promised that if we seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). Forgive us, Lord, for our sins, and help us to extend that same forgiveness to those who have wronged us, for if we do not forgive others, neither will our Father forgive our trespasses (Matthew 6:15). Guard our hearts from temptation and deliver us from evil, for Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Without Him, we have no access to the Father, no hope of redemption, and no power to live victoriously. If anyone reading this does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge them to turn to Him today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of all true prayer and the only way to approach the Father.
May Your will be done in our lives, in our families, in our churches, and in the nations. Let us walk in step with Your Spirit, bearing fruit that lasts, and may Your kingdom come in fullness until the day Christ returns. Amen.
