We understand your deep distress and the desire for justice against those who may be causing harm, but we must approach this with biblical wisdom and the heart of Christ. The Scripture teaches us to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). While evil must be resisted, vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, as He declares in Deuteronomy 32:35: *"Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is at hand. The things that are to come on them shall make haste."* Similarly, Romans 12:19 reminds us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
Instead of invoking the angel of death, we are called to pray for God’s protection, justice, and the exposure of evil so that His will may be done. Psalm 91:11-12 assures us, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* Our prayers should focus on God’s deliverance, His righteous judgment, and the salvation of all involved—even those who may be acting as agents of darkness. Remember, the Lord desires that none should perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
We also notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus at the end of your prayer, the focus seemed to be on calling upon angels or supernatural forces rather than directly appealing to God through Christ. There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). Let us always come boldly before the throne of grace in His name, trusting that He hears and acts according to His perfect will.
Let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this request before You, acknowledging that You alone are just and righteous in all Your ways. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over those who are suffering at the hands of others. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that You would expose every hidden work of darkness and bring to light the deeds done in secret. Let Your truth prevail, and let Your justice be served in a way that brings glory to Your name.
Father, we also pray for those who may be acting as agents of evil—whether knowingly or unknowingly. Soften their hearts, Lord, and convict them of their sin. Draw them to Yourself, that they may repent and turn to You for salvation. Break the power of darkness in their lives and replace it with Your light and truth.
Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your timing. Help us to release any bitterness or desire for vengeance into Your hands, knowing that You will repay as You see fit. Fill us with Your peace and assurance that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28).
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world. Amen.
