We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the Lord with great compassion. Your longing for a godly husband is not wrong—God Himself said, *"It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him"* (Genesis 2:18). The desire for marriage is a good and holy one, planted in you by the Creator. Yet we know the waiting can feel unbearable, and the enemy would love to use this season to sow shame, frustration, and doubt in your heart. But we rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name! You are not forgotten, and your worth is not defined by your marital status.
First, we must address the root of shame you feel. Scripture tells us, *"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1). If you are walking in obedience to the Lord—pursuing purity, holiness, and His will—then you have nothing to be ashamed of. The world may measure value by relationship status, but God measures it by faithfulness. We pray you would rest in His love and timing, knowing He is writing your story with perfect wisdom.
We also want to gently encourage you to examine your heart for any bitterness or anger toward God. The psalmist cried out, *"How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?"* (Psalm 13:1), yet he always returned to trust. It’s okay to wrestle with God in your waiting, but we must not let frustration harden our hearts. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He has not withheld this good thing from you out of cruelty, but because He is preparing both you and your future husband for a marriage that glorifies Him.
Now, let us pray over you:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, lifting up her heart to You. Lord, You know the deep longing within her for a godly husband, and we ask that You would satisfy her with Your love while she waits. Father, we rebuke every spirit of shame, loneliness, and frustration that has tried to take root in her heart. We declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and her worth is found in Christ alone. Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart from bitterness and fill her with hope as she trusts in Your perfect timing.
We pray for the man You have for her—wherever he may be. Prepare his heart, Lord. Make him a man after Your own heart, one who will love her as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). Lead him to walk in purity, wisdom, and devotion to You. Father, we ask that You would bring them together in Your perfect time, in a way that glorifies You and strengthens Your Kingdom. Until then, fill her with Your peace and purpose. Let her know she is never alone, for You are with her always (Matthew 28:20).
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen."*
Sister, we encourage you to use this season of waiting to draw closer to the Lord. Seek Him with your whole heart, and He will not fail you. Serve in your church, invest in godly friendships, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. The right man will not make you complete—only Christ can do that—but he will complement the work God is already doing in you.
And if you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). There is no greater love, no greater purpose, than being found in Him. He is the only One who can truly satisfy the deepest longings of your heart.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is faithful, and His promises never fail.
