Beloved of All
God hears that cry. When you are poor and needy and have nowhere else to turn, that simple prayer is exactly what He invites. In the day of trouble He has promised to answer those who call upon Him, not because we deserve it but because He is good and ready to forgive.
It is nothing for Him to help you, no matter how big or tangled the problem feels to you. We carry our own limitations over to Him and think our situation is too hard, but the One who made heaven and earth is not limited as we are. He is the One who wounds and then binds up, who allows sore distress and then makes whole, who delivers through trouble after trouble. Your help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.
Do not put your trust in the arm of flesh or run first to human help that will fail and leave you empty. That kind of help is in vain and comes to nothing, and trusting it only keeps you from resting on Him. Your strength is to sit still before Him, to rest on Him and wait with your eyes upon Him until His mercy comes. He knows all about the difficulty already, so telling Him your need is not to inform Him but to help your own heart see clearly that you need Him alone. He is your refuge and your portion when no one else cares for your soul.
For every deep cry of the heart, God has provided an answer through Jesus Christ. When we come to the end of self help and self made formulas and simply cry, who will deliver me, He answers with a Person, not a plan. Jesus shed His blood to make a way for all who will come to God through Him, so that mercy and grace can be given to those who do not deserve it. That is grace, giving you what you do not deserve because of His great love.
May you today rest on Him and call upon Him in the name of Jesus. May you know that He hears you, that He forgives, that He binds up what is wounded, and that He will be your help and defense. He has gone before you and He is able to carry you through this desperate place and bring you into His peace.
