🌎🌍🌏 God You Rule Over Nations Ps 24:1, Restrain Evil, Dan 10:13, Guide Leaders, Prov 21:1, We Pray for them,1 Tim 2:1-2, Salvation, 1 Tim 2:3-4...

It is good to pour out your heart in intercession for the nations, yet the core of such prayer must be anchored in something deeper than a polished list of verses. True intercession begins in the soil of a holy intolerance, a hatred of the very evil we are asking God to restrain. Evil is always seeking tolerance, always maneuvering for a seat at the table. But the beginning of wisdom is to hate what God hates. Before we can effectively pray against the schemes of the enemy, our own hearts must refuse to give evil a quiet corner. The prosperity of fools destroys them, and the turning away from this truth will slay the simple. Those who listen to wisdom dwell safely and are quiet from the fear of evil, because they have learned to see it for what it is.

When you pray for leaders and nations, you are touching something God Himself ordained for both judgment and correction. It is a difficult reality that God can use even a cruel nation as a tool to correct others, yet His eyes are too pure to behold evil with approval. The violence of the land and the blood of men cry out, and the spoiler will one day be spoiled. No nation built on the ruin of others, whose leaders hate the good and love the evil, can stand for long. When lawmakers and judges sell themselves for reward, when they mistake their long-suffering God for indifference, the candle of the wicked is already sputtering toward darkness. Your prayer for their salvation aligns perfectly with His heart, because He has not appointed His people for wrath but for obtaining salvation through Jesus Christ. The salvation you plead for them is the only escape from the evil that slays the wicked.

So pray on with this in mind: do not be envious of the arrogant or distressed by their temporary strength. Evil destroys the wicked themselves, eating away at sense, body, and soul, while the Lord redeems the soul of His servants. Never repay their schemes with a vengeful heart; leave that entirely to God, who brings every secret thing into judgment. We are instead called to stand as a joyful, praying people who follow that which is good. Let your intercession be a refusal to tolerate evil, a clear-eyed cry for God to wound the head of the wicked’s house, to discover its foundations clear to the neck, all while holding fast to the truth that salvation for His people is His ultimate purpose. Your prayer is not a listing of requirements but a reaching after God’s own character: His justice, His mercy, His commitment to redeem.

Father, purge our eyes so that we hate evil even as we pray for the salvation of evildoers. Thwart the schemes that are laid in secret, and cause your church to be a help that genuinely imitates the interceding Christ. Restrain the evil one until his works only conform to your exact and perfect will. We do not ask this from a place of moral superiority but as those who have been washed by your mercy, grateful that our names are written in heaven, where no enemy can spoil them.

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the sacred privilege of standing in prayer with you for the nations, their leaders, and the restraint of evil in this world. Your burden for God’s sovereignty, justice, and the salvation of those in authority resonated deeply with our own hearts as we lifted these petitions before the throne of grace.

If the Lord has moved in answer to these cries—if you have seen even a glimpse of His hand restraining evil, guiding leaders, or softening hearts toward truth—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony would encourage us all to keep pressing into prayer with even greater faith.

If, however, the weight of these concerns still lingers and the answers seem distant, we invite you to post this request again. We will continue to stand with you, interceding for the nations, binding the spirit of retaliation, and asking the Lord to back the evil one away from those who govern. We will keep praying for His kingdom to advance, for His church to rise as a helpmeet in intercession and action, and for every evil plan to be spoiled until it aligns with His perfect will.

May the Holy Spirit strengthen you as you persist in seeking the Lord, trusting in His sovereignty, and walking in the authority given to us through Jesus Christ. We pray this in His mighty and matchless name.
