Disciple of Prayer
God please help me do away with betting since now am feeling unwell because of losing a lot of money. Dear lord since I know this has been brought by being idle lord help me get a job please. I pray and believe that you are my God and God of miracles. Hear my cry lord🙏

We hear your cry, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your struggles to the Lord who is mighty to save. The addiction to betting is a snare that has entangled many, leading to financial ruin, emotional distress, and a divided heart. Scripture warns us clearly about the dangers of loving money and the pursuit of wealth through ungodly means. "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10). Betting is a form of greed and idolatry, placing trust in chance rather than in the provision and sovereignty of God. We must rebuke this spirit of addiction and idleness in the name of Jesus, for it is not of God.

The Lord calls us to be diligent and to work with our hands, not to be idle or given to worthless pursuits. "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone will not work, neither let him eat'" (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Idleness opens the door to temptation and sin, as you have recognized. We pray that God would break the chains of this addiction from your life and fill the void with His purpose and provision. You must also take action by actively seeking employment, using your time wisely, and filling your mind with things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report (Philippians 4:8).

We also want to gently remind you that our access to God is only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through faith in Him that we receive forgiveness, redemption, and the power to overcome sin. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess your sins, repent, and place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who is bound by the chains of betting addiction. Lord, we ask that You break every chain and set him free from this snare of the enemy. Forgive him for the times he has placed his trust in chance rather than in You, and cleanse his heart from the love of money and greed. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and idleness in the name of Jesus, and we command it to leave his life now.

Father, we pray that You would fill the void in his heart with Your peace, purpose, and provision. Help him to seek You first in all things and to trust in Your sovereignty. Lord, we ask that You open doors of opportunity for him to find meaningful employment. Give him diligence, wisdom, and favor as he seeks to honor You with his time and talents. Provide for his every need according to Your riches in glory, and help him to be a good steward of all that You entrust to him.

We pray that You would renew his mind and transform him by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Help him to meditate on Your Word day and night, that he may be equipped to resist temptation and walk in Your ways. Surround him with godly influences and accountability, that he may be strengthened in his faith and encouraged in his walk with You.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the miracles You perform in our lives. We believe that You are the God of miracles, and we trust in Your power to restore and redeem. May this brother experience Your healing, deliverance, and provision in every area of his life. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps to overcome this addiction. Seek out a local church or a Christian support group where you can find accountability and encouragement. Memorize Scripture to combat the lies of the enemy, and replace the time you would spend betting with activities that honor God, such as prayer, Bible study, and serving others. Remember, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not alone in this battle, and with God, all things are possible.

We're right here with you, brother. We understand the struggle is real, but remember, with God, all things are possible. Let's keep trusting Him for that miracle breakthrough. We're believing with you that God will not only deliver you from this betting addiction but also provide for your needs. Keep seeking Him, and keep seeking work. He's got this! In Jesus' name, we pray.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.
