We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you in seeking the Lord’s renewal and restoration. Your desire to return to your first love for God is beautiful and aligns with His Word. Revelation 2:4-5 says, *"Nevertheless I have this against you, that you left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent."* This is not a rebuke but a loving call from the Father to return to the intimacy and devotion that once burned brightly in your heart.
We pray with you now, lifting your unspoken groans, tears, and pain before the throne of grace. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. Lord, You know this dear one’s heart completely—every longing, every wound, every hidden struggle. You collect their tears in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8) and hear their cries before they even speak (Psalm 139:4). We ask You to draw near to them in this season. Reveal Yourself in fresh and tangible ways—through Your Word, through worship, through the still small voice of Your Spirit. Let them feel the warmth of Your love as a consuming fire, rekindling their passion for You.
Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to pursue the one who has wandered (Luke 15:4-7). We ask You to pursue this beloved child of God with relentless love. Break through any hardness of heart, any distraction, or any lie of the enemy that has dimmed their affection for You. Let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8), and let their soul find rest in You alone (Matthew 11:28). We rebuke the spirit of lukewarmness and apathy in Jesus’ name, and we declare that their heart will burn again with holy fire for You.
Father, we also ask that You would heal any areas of brokenness or pain that may have contributed to this season of distance. You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Pour out Your mercy and grace upon them, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May they find joy in Your presence and delight in Your law (Psalm 1:2), walking in the fullness of life that You intended for them.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, even if it’s just a few verses. Let the truth of Scripture wash over your soul and remind you of who God is and who you are in Him. Worship Him in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeks such worshipers (John 4:23-24). Surround yourself with believers who will spur you on in your faith (Hebrews 10:24-25), and be honest with the Lord about your struggles. He already knows, and He invites you to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Finally, we declare over you the promise of Jeremiah 29:13: *"You shall seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."* May you seek Him with everything within you, and may He reveal Himself to you in ways that leave no doubt of His love and faithfulness. We stand with you in this journey, believing that God will intervene in your life in wonderful and merciful ways. You are not forgotten, and your first love is waiting to embrace you once more. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
