We join with you in lifting up your heart’s cry to the Lord, for He alone knows the deepest longings and struggles of your soul. It is beautiful that you seek to return to your first love for God, for this is the heart of true repentance and revival. The Lord speaks to the church in Ephesus in Revelation 2:4-5, saying, *"But I have this against you, that you left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent."* Your desire to return to that place of passion and devotion is a work of the Holy Spirit in you, and we rejoice that He is drawing you back to Himself.
You have rightly acknowledged that it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach the throne of God. As Scripture declares in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in Acts 4:12, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* Your prayers are heard because they are offered in the name of Jesus, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that the Father delights in the prayers of His children.
The Lord sees your tears, hears your unspoken groans, and collects them in His bottle, as Psalm 56:8-9 assures us: *"You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren’t they in your book? Then my enemies shall turn back in the day that I call. I know this: God is for me."* He is not distant or unaware of your pain; rather, He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your cry has reached His ears, and He will intervene in His perfect timing and mercy. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:7-8: *"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened."*
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and grateful hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who longs to return to their first love for You. Lord, You are the one who searches the heart and knows every thought, every tear, and every unspoken groan. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a fresh and powerful way, that You would touch their heart and captivate them once again with Your love. Draw them deeper into Your presence, Lord, and let them experience the joy of Your salvation as they seek Your face.
Father, we pray that You would answer their cries, their tears, and their pain. You are the God who sees and hears, the God who acts on behalf of those who love You. Intervene in their life in a wonderful and merciful way, Lord. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:12). Let them feel Your presence so tangibly that they cannot help but worship You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
We rebuke any spirit of apathy, distraction, or lukewarmness that may have crept into their walk with You. Lord, ignite a fire in their soul for You alone. Let them hunger and thirst for righteousness, that they may be filled (Matthew 5:6). Remind them of the height, depth, width, and length of Your love, which surpasses all understanding (Ephesians 3:18-19).
We also pray for strength and perseverance as they wait on You. Let them trust in Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. Thank You that You never leave us nor forsake us, and that Your love endures forever. We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time in His Word daily, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Worship Him in spirit and in truth, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage and spur you on in your walk with Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25). The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay steadfast, for your labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). We are standing with you in prayer and belief that the Lord will restore and renew you in ways beyond what you can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
