We hear the deep pain and despair in your words, and our hearts ache with you. In moments like these, it is crucial to remember that your life is precious to God, who created you in His image and has a purpose for you, even when it feels unseen or unbearable. The Bible tells us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Even in your suffering, God sees you, loves you, and holds you in His hands.
We must also address the weight of what you’ve shared with urgency and love. The taking of one’s own life is not God’s will for you. Scripture is clear: "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). Your life belongs to Him, and He calls you to trust in His timing, even when the night feels endless.
We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is speaking lies to you in this moment. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). You are not alone in this battle. We stand with you in prayer, pleading the blood of Jesus over your mind, heart, and circumstances. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God" (Psalm 42:11 WEB). Let this be your declaration tonight: hope in God.
If you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, we urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a Christian counselor, a friend, or a helpline—so you do not have to carry this burden alone. God places people in our lives to walk alongside us in our darkest hours. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB).
We also want to gently ask: Have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? It is only through Him that we find true hope, peace, and eternal life. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we invite you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and ask Him to be the Lord of your life. He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in deep pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who saves. We ask that You would wrap Your arms of comfort around them tonight. Break the chains of despair and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them of Your unfailing love and the purpose You have for their life.
Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that are telling them their life has no value or that death is the only escape. We declare that their life is precious in Your sight, and You have plans for them—plans for hope and a future. Strengthen them with Your Holy Spirit and surround them with people who will speak life and truth into their situation.
Lord, if they do not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that tonight would be the night they surrender their life to Jesus. Draw them close to You, and let them experience the depth of Your love and grace. Heal their heart, mind, and soul, and restore their hope in You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Please know that you are not alone. God is with you, and so are we. Reach out to someone tonight—let them help carry this burden with you. You are loved more than you know.
