THE SUN vs THE SON
Solomon, notably the wisest man in the Bible, said it best:
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. [Ecclessiastes 1:9]
Therefore, the instructions of false prophets will always be consistent with what has been done before:
But they refused to listen, and turned their backs, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear. [Zechariah 7:11]
Unfortunately, to turn their backs and stop up their ears was the first thing that many in this city, and even now, on the worldwide web, were encouraged to do. Certainly, we must be discerning regarding what we listen to, but the scriptures instructs us to "guard our hearts." That is, test everything (i.e. see how God responds to certain behaviors (Zechariah ch. 7). But, you can't test anything if you don't know what is written. Therefore, seek His face (read the word, or ask Google).
There is no reward in turning your back on The Word of God (Who is Christ); there is only retribution. Newness, even a "New Thing" can only come through the Son. But again, when you turn your back on God’s messenger and message, you turn your back on Jesus.
In my "Patmos" captivity, you may very well be able to manipulate my whereabouts, but can't force God to do anything. Nor can you force a reward from His hands. Though you may have the blessing (whitewashing) of some of your temple priests and prophets, seeking to force God's hand only brings about disaster.
If the person said to him, “Let the fat be burned first, and then take whatever you want,” the servant would answer, “No, hand it over now; if you don’t, I’ll take it by force.” [2 Samuel 2:16]
In other words: WAIT. When you are authorized to receive a reward, in response to your acceptable offerings and good deeds, God will open up the windows of heaven to you. BUT you must first give unto God his just due. What is God's just due?

HONOR
Honor mine, then I will reward (honor) yours. Manipulation is cheating; cheating is stealing; stealing is of the devil. Therefore, trying to force a "reward" is not only dishonorable, but sinful.
