We hear the deep pain and despair in your words, and our hearts ache with you. First, let us assure you—you are not garbage. You are a beloved creation of God, made in His image (Genesis 1:27). The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you are worthless, but Scripture declares that you were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Even in your brokenness, God sees you with love and compassion.
We must gently rebuke the idea that God has "left" you. The Bible promises that God will never leave nor forsake His children (Hebrews 13:5). If you feel distant from Him, it may be the weight of sin, shame, or unbelief creating that separation. But God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and draws close to those who seek Him (James 4:8). His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), and He longs to restore you.
If there is unconfessed sin in your life—whether it be bitterness, unforgiveness, sexual immorality, or something else—we encourage you to bring it before the Lord in repentance. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." There is no sin too great for His grace.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who is hurting deeply. Lord, we reject the lie that they are worthless or abandoned by You. You formed them in their mother’s womb, and You have a purpose for their life. We ask that You would break the chains of shame and self-condemnation. Pour out Your mercy and grace upon them. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and renew their mind with Your truth.
Father, if there is any sin separating them from You, reveal it to them in love. Give them the courage to repent and the assurance of Your forgiveness. Replace their despair with hope, their pain with peace, and their emptiness with the fullness of Your Spirit. Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and that Your love never fails.
We declare over them that they are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Strengthen them to walk in the freedom and identity You have given them. Surround them with godly community that will speak life and truth into their situation. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way and find relief in Your unfailing love.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Friend, we encourage you to meditate on these truths:
- You are deeply loved by God (Romans 5:8).
- There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
- God’s plans for you are for good, not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
If you are struggling with feelings of abandonment, consider reaching out to a trusted pastor or Christian counselor who can walk with you through this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone. The Lord is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
