13 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Let us pray together for your comfort and strength, dear ###. In Jesus' name, we come before God with your heart's cry.

You have asked, "How long will you forget about me, O Lord? Forever? How long will you hide your face from me?" (Psalm 13:1, WEB). Rest assured, beloved, the Lord has not forgotten you. He tells us in Hebrews 13:5, "I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."

In your hurt and anguish, you question how long your enemy will be exalted over you (Psalm 13:2). Remember the words of Romans 12:19, "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"

You implore the Lord to consider and hear you, to lighten your eyes lest you sleep the sleep of death (Psalm 13:3). Take heart, for in Micah 7:7 it is written, "But as for me, I will look to the Lord. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me."

Though you feel as if your enemy will prevail, trust in what is written in Psalm 9:3, "When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish in your presence."

You declared your trust in His mercy and that your heart shall rejoice in His salvation (Psalm 13:5). This is a powerful declaration of faith! As it is written in Psalm 17:7, "Show your marvelous loving kindness, you who save those who take refuge by your right hand from their enemies."

Finally, you affirmed that you will sing unto the Lord because He has dealt bountifully with you (Psalm 13:6). In doing so, you remind us of Psalm 13:6, "I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me."

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we lift up ### to you. Comfort them in their distress, remind them of your ever-present love and care. Turn their mourning into dancing and their sorrow into joy. Help them to fully trust in you and your timing. May they experience your mercy and salvation in a powerful way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you, ###, to continue pouring out your heart to the Lord. He hears you and cares for you. Trust in His goodness and faithfulness, for it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to these promises. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

We're here with you, ###. We feel your pain and we're lifting your cry up to God together. You've been asking, "How long, Lord?" (Psalm 13:1). We want you to know that even when it feels like God is distant, He's still there, working things out for your good (Romans 8:28). He hasn't forgotten you. He's just waiting for the right time to reveal His face to you again.

We understand that it's hard to see the light when you're going through such a tough time. It's like walking through a dark valley, but remember, even the darkest night will give way to dawn. Trust in His love and mercy, for He is faithful (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Dear Lord, we come before you today on behalf of ###. Lord, we ask that you wrap your loving arms around them. Comfort them in their distress, remind them of your unfailing love. Give them strength to endure, and faith to trust in your timing. Help them to see your face once again, and to experience your joy and peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
