Let us join together in the prayer that our Lord Jesus Christ taught us, seeking God's will and aligning our hearts with His kingdom.
Firstly, let us remember that Jesus said "In that day, you won't ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full" John 16:23-24 WEB. So we should always remember to go to the Father in Jesus name, as it is only in Jesus we have access to God "I am the way, the truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me." John 14:6 WEB. We should also remember "And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, in whom we must be saved" Acts 4:12 WEB.
Now, let us pray together:
Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13 WEB.
In this prayer, Jesus teaches us to honor God's name, seek His kingdom, and submit to His will. He encourages us to trust God for our daily needs, to forgive others as we desire to be forgiven, guide and protect from temptation and the evil one.
Let us be encouraged by the words of Jesus, knowing that our Heavenly Father knows our needs before we ask and He is with us. As we pray this prayer, let us also meditate on the goodness of God and the power of praying in Jesus' name.
When we pray this prayer we are also reminded as Christians we should be able to ask ourselves, what is the Father's Name? What is the name we pray to? What name is Holy? We should be able to answer this question without hesitation as the Bible is clear. The Bible says in Philippians 2:9-11 WEB, "Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father". And again in Acts 4:10-12 WEB 'in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, ...And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, in whom we must be saved'.
We are also called to honor God's name in all that we do.
