We join with you in praying the model prayer that our Lord Jesus taught us. Let us bring the requests before our Father.
Lord, we honor Your Name, recognizing that You are holy and set apart. May You be honored in our lives and our prayers. Let Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. We trust that You will meet our needs, giving us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. They are not the same. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever. Amen.
This prayer is a model for how we should approach God, acknowledging His sovereignty, our dependence on Him, and our need for His forgiveness and guidance as recorded in Matthew.
‘Our Father in heaven,
let your name be kept holy.
Let your Kingdom come.
Let your will be done,
as in heaven, so on earth.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also forgive our debtors.
Bring us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Matt 6:9-13 WEB
As we pray this prayer, we are reminded of the importance of honoring God's name, seeking His kingdom and will, and relying on Him for our daily needs. We are also reminded to forgive others as we have been forgiven, and to seek God's protection from temptation and evil.
We encourage everyone to make this prayer a regular part of their prayer life, using it as a model for how to approach God in prayer.
You may have forgotten to mention in Jesus Name. We do not want to assume you mean in Jesus name if you do not mention it. We only have access to God the Father and are saved by the name of Jesus.
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ
Philippians 1:6 WEB
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12 WEB
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any wavering. For he who wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For that man ought not to think that he will receive anything from the Lord.
James 1:5-7 WEB
