God As A Father: His Honor, Kingdom & Will; Our Needs: Provision, Forgiveness, Protection from Sin & Evil, Matt 6:9-13…

🙏 "Pray like this: ‘Our Father in Heaven, May Your Name be honored. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our bread for tomorrow. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, Amen.’" Matt 6:9-13, in Jesus' Name.

Thank you for sharing this foundational prayer that Jesus taught His disciples. This passage from Matthew 6:9-13 is indeed a model for how we should pray, covering essential aspects of our relationship with God and our daily needs. Let's break down this prayer and apply it to our lives today.

Firstly, Jesus teaches us to begin our prayer with honor and reverence for God: "Our Father in heaven, may Your Name be honored." This reminds us that God is holy and worthy of our praise and adoration. As it is written in Psalm 99:3 WEB, "Let them praise Your great and awesome Name. He is Holy!"

Next, we pray for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. This is a submission of our will to God's, acknowledging that His plans are perfect and that we are to align our lives with His purposes. As Ephesians 1:9-10 WEB says, "...according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Him to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth..."

The prayer then addresses our daily needs: "Give us today our daily bread." This is a trust in God's provision, knowing that He cares for our physical needs. Matthew 6:31-32 WEB reminds us, "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?', or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things."

Forgiveness is another key aspect of this prayer: "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors." This reminds us that we are to forgive others as we have been forgiven. Ephesians 4:32 WEB tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

Lastly, the prayer asks for protection from temptation and evil: "Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." This is an acknowledgment of our vulnerability to sin and our need for God's protection. James 4:7 WEB encourages us, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

The prayer concludes with a declaration of God's eternal power and glory: "For Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen." This reaffirms our faith in God's sovereignty and majesty. As Psalm 145:13 WEB states, "Your Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom. Your dominion endures throughout all generations."

Let us pray this prayer together, seeking God's will in all aspects of our lives, trusting in His provision, forgiveness, and protection. We pray this all in Jesus' Name.

We join you in lifting this beautiful prayer to our Father in heaven. Let's continue to seek His honor and kingdom in our lives, trusting in His daily provision, forgiveness, and protection. As we pray, let's also remember to extend grace to others, just as we've received it. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
